Anyone been watching? Vafaei should have perhaps kept his thoughts to himself. Chat shit, get banged as the young people say. Shelby looking good as well. Only getting the chance to watch snippets of this year’s championship. Selby vs Higgins looks like a classic on the making.

The Mark Allen v Jack Jones game was great, last frame was a real cliffhanger.

I'd say Allen is probably looking the favourite of all semi finalists. He's been consistent all year, hasn't put a foot wrong all tournament. Should be clear favourite but Selby's a grinder and excels in things like this.
Ideally, would want a Si v Allen final. A young prodigy story is always great, but Allen's career has been dramatic and almost been leading up to this kind of thing so would be a great story for him.

I try not to be critical of him but it really is awful stuff watching Selby. Was willing to give him leeway but that semi final was the worst semi final I've ever seen. Even with a chunk of a lead, I don't trust Brecel to beat him. Saw it with Higgins when he opened with a four frame lead, I just knew it would be clawed back through gutter play.
Can only hope that Brecel's reeling off frame after frame against all odds is a habit that comes into play in this final. Good signs for just now though, Brecel cueing so well and cleaning up quickly without struggling....

That was a brilliant session, both players. Brecel might be regretting missing that snooker on the green in the last frame there. The difference between a 1 or 3 frame lead going into tomorrow probably.

Thought so too, happily see Selby win if he's playing snooker like that. Credit to Brecel, think he's really dragging the standards out for himself and Selby.

All perfectly set up now, but can it top the drama of Liverpool/Spurs and the chess world championship?

It seems whenever I don’t watch it, Brecel dominates the table. I was planning on watching it tonight but may have to change my plans now…

Brecel's a joy to watch. Plenty of dominant finals but in terms of quality, can't remember the last time we had this much quality from one player in the final. Selby being forced to put the defensive side away for this one but he can play too when forced to as we saw last night.
And yet, I'd like to see Selby claw a few frames back for the sake of a classic final session. A nail biting midnight finish would be grand.

Well that was fantastic. One of the best snooker finals in a while. Top quality from both players, Brecel one of the most entertaining player in a long while and the last time I criticise Selby (massive serving of humble pie here).
Just hope it's no flash in the pan from Luca, came out of nowhere to win this so hope it kickstarts more success.

Aye what a great final, Brecel just looks like he's down his local club hitting some balls around, no fear. Have to give Selby credit too, he gets so much stick for being boring but those breaks he put together to come back to within 1 frame were just brilliant.

Getting second hand car salesman vibes from Shaun Murphy's commentary tone.
As much as I love to see O'Sullivan win, against Ding, he's up against a player I'd quite happily see win in Ding. Still a big snooker memory was seeing him winning this tournament as a teenager against Steve Davis back in 2005.

It’s a nice match so far and there’s no way I’d be able to predict a winner. Murphy has such a chip on his shoulder. He absolutely dispises Ronnie and he doesn’t even try to hide it!

I always want Shaun the Bastard to get to the final and lose. It keeps him off comms longer. First round defeat like in this tournament was the nightmare scenario.

Those last three frames are why I love watching Ronnie. Looked under it, and then goes up a gear. Magic to watch.
Hopefully this will give Ding the kick up the arse to push on. If anyone has underachieved in Snooker, its him.
