this album, despite a lot of ppl not liking it, had to be made.
it sums up Oasis. Arrogant. Good tunes with nonsense lyrics but somehow ppl make sense of them. Loud. Guitar solos. Liam at his peak.
Actually, every album has something magical on it. (BHN: SBM, DGA. SOTSOG: WDIAGW, GP. HC: SCYHO, LBL, SB. DBTT: LLAB, IOBI) -- headache yet? lol
Granted, lets all make believe, full on, and other songs would have been better than Magic Pie, My Big Mouth
and why wasnt either Stand By Me or Dont Go Away on STC?

Nah, it doesnt. It sums up everything that is the opposite to what made them a such a great band in the first place.

Put it on the other day actually, but i wouldn't listen to it, and think, christ thats one of the best things ive ever heard, it had a few good songs, well three maybe, Don't Go Away is not as good as people make out, it had childish awful lyrics and its ok i soppose, but by the time you've heard it three times you hit skip. occasionally i'd be the mood to go back to it, I still love D'Yer Know What I Mean? I'd listen to it ahead of Don't Beleive the Truth, which is pish

Alright it isn't as good as their other albums but it's still good. Magic Pie. Put it on in an empty pub on a rainy afternoon while getting pissed and you'll see what a great song it is, trust me!

Is the nugget of a great record surrounded by too much production, bullshit and OTT cocaine consumption. If Noel had bothered a bit more on the lyrics and not felt th eneed to have every song be 7 minutes long (plus stopped referencing the fucking Beatles in every other line - hey, I love them too, but at that time the LAST thing Oasis needed was more evidence for thse who just called them Beatles copyists), it would be much more fondly remembered.
Oh yeah, and if he'd saved The Masterplan for it. Mug!

It's not that bad an album. The main problem is the production. Too much heavy feedback and basically no bass at all! That aside there are some good moments. D'Yer Know What I Mean?, My Big Mouth, Stand By Me, Don't Go Away and Be Here Now. Imagine if this album was re-recorded today with the current line up with a proper producer. I think it's safe to say it would be even better. I would rate this album 7/10 I prefer it to Don't Believe The Truth anyday!

It was recorded loud so whenm the shitty mastering was done and compression added it ended sounding shit. I prefer it to Don't Believe The Truth anyday!

how can you say DBTT is below 7/10? im just curious why you dont like it.... My own personal choice. The production is good and the variety of music is good. It’s just that I found it very bland in places. Turn Up The Sun, Mucky Fingers and Keep The Dream Alive are some of the best work Oasis have done. The rest I can take or leave. The Importance Of Being Idle is my least popular Oasis track of all time. Im not too keen on Lyla either. Maybe it’s the fact that im an old bastard who has been into Oasis from the early days? I don’t know. What I do know is that Be Here Now is more enjoyable for me than Don’t Believe The Truth. Just the way it is mate.

I love it. Those were the days Oasis sounded so different. I do like this "Singers-and-Songwriters"-Stuff like LLAB, TIOBIor LDSMD (Song), but I want my Rock'n'Roll back! Wasnt there some guys, who made a "shorter" BHN without f.e. these endless "It'sgetting better man, It's getting better man..."
