SINGING DOWNWARD: Probably not gonna aid your voice any better then neutral, looked good when liam was singing with mic up and Noel mic Down
He is just comfortable singing like that, probably feel it helps him sing the high notes better: GET A JOURNALIST TO ASK him in an interview instead of what tune inspired Riverman or how much money it would take to reform a band he used to write for.

This is the first live video I ever watched of Don't Look Back In Anger. The sadness that seems to come from Noel by having the frown and looking down, along with the audience's incredible amount of passion, really made the moment emotional and I could understand how important this song was to Oasis fans.

To me, it often looks like he *is* looking at the front rows of the audience (in that Manchester 05 video for example). He's on stage, so they're obviously not at eye level.

It's quite ingenious, actually. He reads lyrics off of notecards and jots quips to say during breaks. He never wanted to be a frontman and this helps.

I can't help be sceptical when someone says they've ALWAYS preferred Noel's voice though. Sure, over the last fifteen years maybe, I'd be inclined to agree with you there, but I thought it was pretty much common knowledge Liam was superior in the nineties. I'd wager that for around 90% of us on here, Liam's voice was tje first attraction of Oasis. It's easy to slag Liam off these days (God knows he deserves it for ruining his voice as he has), but I think some people forget how special Liam's voice was in his prime. |

Mate, there's no point in arguing. Not everyone loves or loved Liam's voice. Just accept that point and you'll be a much happier person. On the subject, I think it's because Noel's a lazy vagina. He probably stood at the mic in his most relaxed, lazy posture and he was looking down so he put the mic there. |
