It says a lot about Oasis fans when such a nothing song as Flick of the Finger, with no chorus and boring repetitive verse, can get so many votes. It's not even nearly one of the best songs on BE. It's a joke that some think it's the best post Oasis song. Exactly. It's like Beatles fans who believe that Tommorow Never Knows is the best track on Revolver ,ahead of Eleanor rigby and Here there and everywhere. Wake up already,it is more difficult to write a verse AND a chorus of different melodies than a simple verse repeated over and over.Just because Flick of the finger sounds cool, doesn't mean it is a really good song. The best Beady Eye songs are The beat goes on,Back after the break,Iz rite and Evil eaye with a few others close behind like Four letter word and Soul love. They are melodic and complete something that Flick is not. Likewise the best Liam songs are I'm outta time and Boy with the blues and not fucking songbird with the repeating verses however cute they are.

I think the Roller is one of Beady Eye's best songs. But apparently only 6 others think so.

A song's quality isn't measured by its complexity or how difficult it was to write, so I fail to see your point.

If I would be measuring a song by the concept of that a song which was written with great difficulty is better, then I wouldn't be here, as Noel claims to have written quite a bunch in 10 minutes.

So if you were making an 12 track album out of the top voted tracks it would go something like this:
Riverman Flick of The Finger The Dying Of The Light Everybody's On The Run The Death Of You And Me Ballad of the Mighty I Lock All The Doors Alone On The Rope You Know We Can't Go Back The Right Stuff If I Had A Gun AKA...What A Life
That's a classic album right there.

If I Had a Gun, Lock all the Doors and Flick of the Finger stand above the rest for me. The chorus of IIHAG might be my favourite Noel has ever written. I was amazed with the other 2 right from the first time I heard them.
It'd be a toss up between a bunch of them for the other 2 spots, but I voted for The Dying of the Light and Ballad of the Mighty I, which just keeps getting better. But Riverman, Off at the Next Exit, Start Anew, Death of You and Me and What a Life could be there depending on the day.

It says a lot about Oasis fans when such a nothing song as Flick of the Finger, with no chorus and boring repetitive verse, can get so many votes. That criticism is getting old at this point... You say it as if appreciating a chorus requires refined taste. Verse/chorus structures are the safest and most mindlessly enjoyable type of song. If you think every song needs a chorus (and I'm not sure that you do--I'm speaking generally), then it only reflects your own narrow/underdeveloped taste. Not every song needs a chorus, but a song with a boring, repetitive verse definitely does need one. If not a chorus, then something else to break up the monotony. The best part of FOTF is the beginning. Great start, I admit. But what happens after that? Fuck all. For anyone whose musical horizon has progressed beyond Britpop, it gets boring very quickly. For those stuck in the 90s, it's an exciting song indeed.

I think even Second Bite Of The Apple is a better song than FOTF. At least that one has a chorus. Sort of.

Two things just became very clear to me while voting.
1) I REALLY don't get Riverman or Flick of the Finger. Just not a big fan of either. 2) Holy Shit Chasing Yesterday is amazing! I could've picked 5 just from CY.
I would have selected Evil Eye had it been an option though. Shine A Light should be an option too. Probably my two favorite BE tracks.

In no particular order:
If I Had A Gun The Dying of the Light While the Song Remains the Same Ballad of the Mighty I Riverman
Note: Freaky Teeth and Revolution Song would be in serious contention here if they were included in this poll
There's no way I could select Beady Eye songs. As much as I like some of their output, you're coming up against two albums worth from the chief. No comparison. No competition.

For me, in no order: The Right Stuff A Simple Game of GeniusThe Death of You & Me While the Song Remains the SameRivermanHonourable Mentions: Ballad of the Mighty I, Off at the Next Exit, Broken Arrow, Everybody's on the Run, The Dying of the Light, What a Life!, and Flick of the Finger Had to update that a bit. I tried to include a couple Beady Eye songs, but it's tough when you have two stellar albums from Noel that would rank up there with MG and DM as some of his best works. However, OATNE and FOTF are two brilliantly crafted songs, along with BATB, and do have a somewhat rightful place, so I put them in the honourable mentions.

I don't get the obsession with FOTF either. It's very listenable, but compared to the other songs on that list, I wouldn't even think about putting it in a top 10(!) list. My list is VERY dominated by CY. Only Alone On The Rope as a non CY-track makes it in my top 5.
in no particular order: While the song remains the same The Right Stuff The Dying of the Light Riverman Alone On The Rope
