I like how we're not supposed to take Liam's tweets seriously yet people are acting like Noel said he's gonna bomb North Korea. Why do people care so damn much about what the Gallaghers say? It's clear at this point that both brothers are feeding into this drama precisely because it attracts publicity. I don't think that anyone on this forum should feel personally offended by what Noel or Liam says about fans. Honestly, who gives a fuck what they think as long as they release good music. If they want to take cheap shots at each other or even each other's fanbases, that's their problem, not mine. I know right. Everything Liam says will always be 'tongue in cheek'.

He jokes here about people wearing parkas having negative reactions to Holy Mountain. People laugh. It's not as easy to tell jokes on social media, things easily get out of proportions. https://www.instagram.com/p/BacQ0FaltIU

Does he? I thought I'd read on here that he didn't run his own social media acc? Well I hope some of that humour reappears in his interviews soon then. Pretty sure he does mate yes! Obviously someone from his record label may do the promotional/technical stuff, but in terms of the content pretty sure it's him.

Has to be said this is a far funnier response to the Team Liam Twitter stuff than Noel's bitter interviews. We need more humour in the battle of The Parka Monkeys vs The High Flying Thunderbirds. I second this

I have to admit I'm quite partial to the odd parka. I'm also partial to a change in direction/sound from a musician that's (arguably) gotten a little stale. However it helps if the first track from said new direction isn't shite. Well, luckily the new track isn't shite.

This is the problem with social media these days. A celeb types out a Tweet (or rather his PR team do) and everyone jumps on it immediately, trying to dissect it from every angle possible. At least with LG we know he writes his Tweets - AND he gets pleasure from being on Twitter to wind people up. This NG Tweet - do we know Noel wrote it himself? It is not as confrontational as some of LG's tweets, and seems to have only winded up people on here who do not like HM. That's how I am seeing this at the moment anyway. Knowing NG's sense of humour too, if he did write it then I guess it's not meant to be taken that seriously, but judging by the hysterical cries on this thread, then it has obviously backfired. Like literally every move he's made this album cycle backfired and is coming back to bite him in the ass Somehow I think NG will have the last laugh when this album is released. I think it will be massive (well, much bigger than his last 2 anyway).

Like literally every move he's made this album cycle backfired and is coming back to bite him in the ass I think the big mistake was One Love Manchester. He lost a lot of good-will there, which is hard to get back. That was such a terrible PR disaster, that I still cannot get my mind around how they could have let that happen. It was such a no-brainer from a marketing point of view that I got no idea what his PR people were thinking.

His pr would have definitely told him to consider it and he would have told them he’s on holiday and he’s not doing it. They would have held their head in their hands knowing that they would have a lot of work on their hands to put it right. Since, I’m sure he’s aware of his bad move. Never seen so many selfies with him, he’s a pr machine now.

He's just whing because his new single doesn't sell.
Without those "parka monkeys", he'd probably be standing at an assembly line right now. Or sitting at home, drinking today's third beer and thinking about how shitty his life is.

The real beginning of the very real fall out. Once his album is out, and its getting huge praise by critics (which it most probably will) and Noel has done the rounds on the chat shows and played live on Graham Norton, all of this storm-in-a-teacup BS will be long forgotten.

The fact that DLBIA sales went to charity, and he played recently live in Manchester, I think that PR disaster episode has just about been forgotten.

I bet you it won't, a bottle of whiskey it won't. Just going on the last 8 years. Also you should never talk something up (or down) you haven't heard, its a risky business that.

It’s the LG/NG relationship that will be further damaged.

i loved Oasis since i was 16 and always loved the interviews but Noel is becoming something i hate, a bitter vagina. Liam is being childish but at least he says he loves Noel. All Noel does is putting Liam and his career down and now he even has the nerve to ridicule his own fans...

Noel has talked all his albums up for years before they have been released. It's what he does. And I'm not sure why you think this album is not going to do well. I think the new sound is going to tap into a younger client base to increase his sales, and the only people it will alienate are the Oasis fans who won't like this new direction. Judging by this forum, it seems like a 50/50 split....for now! People either love HM, hailing it as the best thing he has done in years (including me), or absolutely hate it. If the rest of the album gives the HM haters a few decent tracks for them to like, then NG will be winning all round.
