I've just been reliably informed that there is a new track yet to come from the Chasing Yesterday sessions. It's a 3-minute C&W/honky-tonk track called Here's a Candle. It's in the key of G and features a banjo and a sax.
I've no info about when/if it's due to be released, though I would guess it's going to be a future b-side or bonus track.
Before anyone asks, I don't have a copy (I haven't even heard it myself!), though I can assure you my friend's info is very trustworthy.

If your source is as reliable as you say, that's great news

that's good news!
For Noel to go out and do a world tour he really needs new music every once in a while to keep people interested.
A major fault of BE aside from the ridiculous lack of shows was the fact we never got anything new once the album was out.

Beady Eye gave us Man of Misery, In the Bubble with a Bullet and Across The Universe from the DGSS era. They also gave us the White Smoke remixes for BE. Those were definitely cool and interesting. Did they give away too much on the Japanese release? Probably. Those bonus songs were mostly all excellent. Some of the best work by the band.

I'm not really one for remixes, give me new material anyday

Let's hope it's true, i hate that we get bonus tracks all at once. In the 90s - old vagina mode on - going to the record store to get a new single with 3 new tracks was something. Exciting day every 3 months. now we get excited for one week every 4 years - old vagina mode off -

there are too many songs with weird names I would never expect to be written by Noel

So that's a good contender for the b-side to the 4th single that's probably going to be released in spring/summer I guess? Definitely better than a live track/remix/AA version of something we already have.

Whatever it is, if it exists, I already hate it. I despise country. I hate banjos. But maybe I'll be surprised, it's still Noel after all.

I've heard enough country music to know it's not my style. And I've heard a lot. I live in the south, after all. You can't walk out of your house without someone blasting it. It's nails on a chalkboard to me. Same with rap. As far as being open-minded, you seem to have missed the second part of my comment. Closed-minded people wouldn't say that.

I have a funny relationship with country as I think the modern, mainstream crap that passes off as country (actually pop in my opinion) is a curse on the human race, but I love a lot of the old stuff. But besides, banjos don't necessarily imply country music, could be a more folky think (like I'd Pick You... or TDOYAM, which feature a banjo). Noel loves The Band so it's not surprising to see him bringing out these kinds of instruments every once in a while. Oh, and I did miss the second part of your comment. Sorry about that.

I genuinely can envisage that being a Noel song title. Plus he said in an interview not long ago (can't remember which exactly) that some time in this album cycle an unreleased song may sneak out into the open, similar to what happened last time round.
