Don't think he's the greatest - but certainly underrated - is Guy Garvey from Elbow.
His natural stage presence makes him come off as the ale drinking, cigarette smoking pub goer. A bit too ordinary to be a great frontman? Not at all, considering the nature of Elbows music is very grounded in realism, and Garveys stage presence only adds to make their music even more convincing.

Daltrey (With an e) was, in his day, an insanely good singer & should always be top 5!
Nobody beats Freddie though.

Freddie is the greatest, absolutely no contest. Had the crowd eating out of his hand and one of the best singers of all time.

I know Freddie should be up there, no argument he was great at what he did but if I was putting together a "fantasy rock band" or what ever, I wouldn't want him as my frontman, if that makes sense. I'd pick Johnny Rotten to be honest, with Liam as reserve option, maybe even have both! Can't be arsed with a top 10 so, Rotten Liam Morrissey Jagger 4 will have to do!

Liam Gallagher on top form belting out Oasis songs is indeed untouchable. Freddie Mercury can feck off. To me a great frontman has to have showmanship. All Liam does is stand there singing mostly great songs while in Oasis. Compared to other guys on the list, he seems tame but does have a good haircut.

Hmmm... that said you can't imagine Liam doing a Freddie Mercury or a even Tom Meighan. When you're looking as cool as fuck then why bother (and even more so with great songs behind you): running around makes it looks like you're over-compensating. Besides... it's spellbinding! Hands behind the back, snarling into the mic - one of the most iconic frontman images ever.

It's a fair point Lennon, but that's precisely the point of Liam. The fact that he stands stock still with his hands behind his back, almost as if he's bored by the thousands of people going apeshit in front of him... the deathly stare... the swagger up to the mic, arms a-swinging... hell, even the utter bollocks he used to shout between songs in the nineties, it's all strangely compelling, you can't take your eyes off it.
