Do you think Noel will skip December and let us hear it for the first time in January?

Hoping for first radio play in December but wouldn't be surprised if we don't hear it until late Jan.

I think it'll be heard on radio for the first time on the third week of january. A mid to late January launch seems right. If it's done too early it'll be out too soon before Chasing Yesterday. I imagine the releases going like this: - Mid November: In The Heat of The Moment - Late January: Ballad of The Mighty I - Beginning of March: Chasing Yesterday - May: The Dying of The Light

I don't think they would miss the chance to release a single a week before the album drops, if it is mighty I it seems like too big of a gap(which would be a theme for this whole thing).

I bet Noel chuckles when he reads threads like this.

Hard to nail this one down. You normally release an album off the back of a single, not a month or 6 weeks earlier. So this would suggest around mid-Feb, unless they've got a third pre-album single planned, which would be a bit strange.

Maybe "The Dying of the Light" will come out then, instead?

It's not that bad when i'm thinking about it now. With all the christmas december will be gone in a minute as it's always does. Then just January and we will hear a new song. February, and here it is, Chasing Yesterday.

Would Noel really only do one post release single for four singles? And would he really go up to a 5th on a 10 song album? That's a lot.

And technically they released 3 tunes to air before HFB. Not having AirPlay the week the album drops would be really bad IMO.

Mighty I is gonna have hardly any air to breathe before single #3 arrives.

That would be MUCH more logical. Then, as you mentioned "The Dying of the Light" coming in May, and another for July, knowing Noel's management team. Only problem is that the length between the 1st & 2nd singles would end up being 4 months.

I don't see an issue with 3 singles before the album release. Mighty I in early January and then Dying Of The Light 1-2 weeks before album release. That gives Mighty I plenty of room to breathe. And keeps things interesting. That puts Noel in the headlines for 2 months with new releases before the album...rather than 3 months of silence. People will forget during this 3 month period.

Early January is when I'm hoping we get to hear it. And besides, we get the album extremely early on Feb. 29th anyway.
And I don't know about 'The Dying of the Light' being the third single. It sounds as if 'The Right Stuff' might be the third, most likely because it's a leftover track from the AA sessions, and Noel's been talking it up with a few radio hosts who actually have heard it.
Then again, who knows? Right? It might be the third single, it might not be... whatever. But I'm hoping we get to hear 'Ballad of the Mighty I' soon. Just not now as the the holidays are up.

Considering how early ITHOTM was released, 3 singles are absolutely possible. He did the same thing in 2011 - TDOYAM 2-3 months earlier, then both What a Life and IIHAG over a month earlier. This time it would be ITHOTM as the early one, Mighty I a month before the album, the third single in late February.

Imho, 1/2 weeks before the album release we will have The Dying Of the Light/Revolution Song as new single.
