He had months to think about it, and he's got that The Who gig coming up. I don't see him as somebody who would split up his band easily, so I'm going with "he has a plan"...hopefully!

A man, a plan, a canal, panama. Hurrah for palindromes. If I hadn't known better I would have thought those were lyrics to Ain't Got Nothing. Would have fit.

Liam is a born performer. He'll always be on a stage to please a crowd, and I mean that in best possible light.

I think there are 2 factors: (1) The other BE members don't have a lot of faith in Liam's choice as the group's new manager. (2) Noel has called Gem for the upcoming HFB tour.

We couldn't say it's Liam's reunion with alcohol because they've never been parted.

I would struggle to name u 10 good bands and 5 frontmen...If u consider artists being in the top 10 to be the modern music world then God help us

Were they any good? If you like shoegaze their first two albums are great, if you like stoner rock the third one is good, and if you like cliches from the 60's and 70's or Lenny Kravitz for short the 4th one is for you(the worst of them IMO all but give it a chance). They have their music on a official youtube channel and a live gig as well. These songs are in order of release. Andy wrote 2 of these 4 try guessing what he wrote

Where's the, "No, he's doing cheap whores and expensive blow," option? "Yes, he is drinking" is the one you need. It includes dog riding, whores, all kind of stuff.

As he says he likes him, they do seem to have to most fascinating family structures. But maybe he has a soft spot for his successor as Patsy Kensit's husband because of "Little James". www.virginmedia.com/music/news/story/2014/10/22/jim-kerr-says-q-awards-missed/

Ride was one of my favorite bands.of that time period, and until Oasis came along and wiped the board clean, were pretty big in the UK as far as indie bands go. Haven't most of you even listened to other Creation Records bands from the 90s? They put out a load of amazing bands. If any of you have time, watch Upside Down: The Creation Records Story online. Its an awesome movie and obviously features Oasis and Alan McGee.

Haha, haven't checked Ride out before. I've listened to a few of their albums and I love it, right up my street. Thanks for the links!
On Liam, if I was him I'd take a few years off, if a specialist recommends vocal chord surgery then he should get it done imo as without BE or Oasis he hasn't got much to lose. I think he then needs to do a solo/collaboration album with some other artists to hopefully learn a few new things, make an interesting record and expand his musical palate. Spend a lot of time developing songs properly and making demos for a couple of years. Then reform either Oasis or failing that Beady Eye

I'm hoping he won't be gone for long, he's doing that Who thing meaning that he's still in the public eye and isn't 'doing a Guigsy' so I guess that's a positive. So what's next? Solo album? Oasis reunion? Maybe form a virtual band and call it Orangutanz or something?

I can't see him doing much musically. He split it because he can't digest the lack of fame and success BE has. He'll hope for an oasis reunion but knows it won't happen anytime soon. Until then, PG, pub, odd live appearance.
No official studio stuff IMO

Hopefully he'll work with top songwriters and producers who do all the mainstream stuff at the moment and they'll sort him out with a big hit song to kick start it all. Also trading under his own name will get him more airplay/exposure however crap the management is.
Needs to sound modern and upbeat, no retro Lennon ballads. Also needs to ditch the mod boring plain Pretty Green lad look, grow his hair and dress like the rock star he used to and wear something flashy.

Liam said himself when doing promotion for the BE album that if it didn't sell, then maybe they should pack it in. Just as Noel has mentioned, these guys spend a LOT of their own money to put records out. Touring is how they get that money back. Liam probably looked at the big picture and decided to go a different route.
