One Way Road, Gas Panic! and Falling Down would be awesome.
But I've got a feeling he's going to do Live Forever and/or Slide Away instead of Supersonic.

hey! long time reader of the forum, specially for scoops, but first post i'd love to see on his setlist: - hello (would be a great opener for the gigs, don't know why no one has mentioned it) - lord don't slow me down - falling down - morning glory (acoustic version, maybe instead of supersonic) - Importance of Being Idle - DLBIA (the only obvious one that he'll play) i guess he'll play around 5 oasis songs anyway, now that he has two solo albums.

I don't want any of them. No Wonderwall, no Supersonic anymore. Noel has enogh solo material to fill 90 minutes. I feel sorry for the young ones who didnt'have chance to see Oasis live, but I bought my ticket to see Noel Gallagher and his High Flying Birds (same as Beady Eye), not Oasis tribute band. I've seen some young kids at Beady Eye in Paradiso in February this year. They were shouting like hell to Liam "Oasis Oasis" with wearing Oasis T shirt.
Oasis is over, but we've got 3 good albums since break up. You gotta move forward to carry on.
Back to the topic, but I do tbink Noel finishes his upcoming gigs with Don't Look Back In Anger and if he does, I can't say no. It's a kinda Anthem.

Wish it were gonna happen but I somehow doubt it. I'm just hoping for significantly fewer Oasis songs at the least.

I respect that you want to hear HFB above all else but I don't think it's unreasonable for a few Oasis tunes in there too. If you are in my position (young and American) Noel's tour is likely my only shot at ever hearing an Oasis tune live. And the reason it would mean so much is because it isn't a tribute it's Noel. Having said that I also can't stand these bastards that refuse to accept Oasis is over. For e.g.- just in that most recent FB interview the first question asked was about which songs Noel would play at the Oasis reunion. Shit like that is really off putting and methinks kind of insulting to Noel.

Oasis is over, but we've got 3 good albums since break up. You gotta move forward to carry on. Noel already did acoustic versions while in Oasis, why would doing the same with his own songs make him an Oasis tribute act? Same guy, same songs. I understand what you're getting at, but I can't see Noel putting out 12 songs better than anything Oasis ever did. In other words - play all the good stuff from HFB and CY, but I'd rather hear Supersonic and Don't Look Back In Anger than The Good Rebel and Soldier Boys and Jesus Freaks. It's a pure matter of song quality. Also, Noel will never break free of those Oasis associations. He was in the band for nearly 20 years, he still has about four or five times as many songs from that time than from his solo career. Most, if not all, people at his shows will know him from Oasis, and expect a few Oasis highlights. I think that's reasonable. Of course, the amount he did in the first tour (including IGTBF, Mucky Finger, Half the World Away...) was, I hope, only necessary because he only had a dozen HFB songs. He should be able to reduce the Oasis part of the set to a few classics next time - Supersonic, The Masterplan, DLBIA, Live Forever would be my picks. Mixing it up by playing some old, never-played Oasis gems is also fine with me - we'd never hear those live.

I see what you mean and that but I don't think Noel takes HFB seriously enough to have a full gig of HFB songs. He sees it as just his solo project, hence why he plays songs that he has written as opposed to songs from 2011 onwards. Personally I wouldn't like to see a full gig of HFB songs, I'm quite enjoying the obscure Oasis songs he keeps pulling out. I don't really want to hear the classics (Supersonic, Wonderwall etc.) on this tour that's playing it a bit too safe. DLBIA is basically inevitable and I suppose if I was going to see a show I'd want to hear it as well so I can't complain.

how about gas panic! and let's all make believe?
and can we PLEASE have just one tour without fucking wonderwall? i know it's his most recognizable and popular song, but it's also at this point very tired, and worn out and needs to be given a rest.

Noel didn't form a new band, like Liam with Beady Eye. This is just the name of his solo act. Anyone who's buying tickets to see him live wants to see Noel Gallagher, the musician, songwriter, whatever you'll call him, perform. Not the High Flying Birds - which basically doesn't exist, as Noel himself stated that the members may change from tour to tour. And as a solo act, you would expect him to play songs that are part of his career as a musician. A solo act can play anything from his back catalogue. (which is different with a new band as Beady Eye) Or do you think is ridiculous to see Ray Davies live playing some Kinks songs or Paul McCartney playing Beatles songs as well as their solo material? I can't see how Noel Gallagher playing songs that were written by himself in his career in a solo gig becomes an Oasis Tribute band.

I think DLBIA and TIOBI are sure fires, at least I hope they are.
Some of the more predictable songs that might be given a shot: Slide Away Supersonic Fade Away The Masterplan Half The World Away Listen Up Talk Tonight Mucky Fingers
Some deeper cuts that I'm hoping for: One Way Road - might be the first Oasis song that really sounded like a "Noel" to me song. Very underrated. Shout It Out Loud - set needs more killer guitar solos. Step Out - could be a nice change of pace. Add some energy to his set. Doubt he would play this but it'd be cool. Married With Children - electric or acoustic. Noel has always done this song well. Hello - would be a nice opening replacement for IGTBF. Rockin' Chair - need.... more... live... versions. D'Yer Wanna Be A Spaceman? - if Noel is feeling nostalgic. Hey Now! - it'd be a great surprise. Waiting For The Rapture - this would give his set a much need thump. Going Nowhere - would be nice for a one off. Gotta have the horns and strings. Lord Don't Slow Me Down - begging to hear this done live. Come on Noel.

Yeah, this could be a "Oasis songs you DON'T want on CY tour" thread I'm quite tired of DLBIA aswell and I really hope he forgets about It's good to be free. I'd love to hear on the setlist some "obscure" track, maybe not a fan-favourite one but something we haven't heard live like Part Of The Queue, Going Nowhere or The Turning.

I'd like to hear Morning Glory.. It'll be the albums 20th anniversary night as well sing the song of the same name he knows he does it well acoustically too.
Waiting for the rapture - he said Chasing Yesterday is a lot about Sara, so is this also it's a little more upbeat
Falling Down- I love it want to hear it again mixed in with his solo stuff
DLBIA - of course we will hear this
