Ok Computer > Pet Sounds Thanks. Wouldn't have songs like 'No Surprises' without Pet Sounds though.

- original Pitchfork review of The Beach Boys' Pet Sounds (before they re-wrote it and added another 2 points to its grade) *yes, that is how editor-in-chief/founder, Rob Schreiber, chose to spell 'permanently' . What can you say, he has his own way of doing things. He doesn't abide by such arbitrary literary conventions as being able to spell well and have decent grammar... Try hards - Pitchfork are to Radiohead like Rolling Stone is to U2 and NME is to Oasis: disregarding the great albums from all acts that are worthy of appraisal, there is a narrow minded obsession to place latter and unimportant albums by them on higher pedestals than they deserve. That's just Pitchfork attempting to be hip and edgy (proof of their obsession, see how they deleted the original Be Here Now review which was favourable to the album). Pet Sounds has a seminal influence over all those albums there, which although great, don't come close to the songcraft or sonic ambition of it.

Went to the show last night. Sat in the nosebleeds. Played for about 2 hours and ten minutes. Decent set list. Wish they played a few more up tempo songs though. Had a good time.

"I'd like to tell you a joke or something to lighten the mood - but this is Radiohead, so fuck it."
- Thom Yorke, the other night.

Watched the stream last night. Disaster city. The first 4-5 songs all hit with no sound issues here and there. Looked great otherwise. Was hoping for a good bootleg, maybe next week's stream.

Radiohead urged to cancel Israel gig. They should play if they want to and ignore the cultural boycott - why punish a whole people for their state's oppressive actions? It's not like they're playing to a crowd of zionists.

Godrich is producing Roger Waters new record. So that's natural. In my opinion Waters is an ol quirky populist, who uttered some reversed incomparable statements about Israel. I don't know if he's the right one to lead such a movement.

Forget Israel, they are gonna play the gig. They've had great gigs there and Jonny's wife is Israeli.
In other news/speculation, the winds are blowing strong for a 20th anniversary release of OK COMPUTER. Promotion posters spotted in several cities around the globe. This could be awesome. I'd kill for OKC outtakes or demos. So many songs worked on for that album that never have seen the light of day mostly (Lift, I Promise, Nude, Big Boots, True Love Waits, Motion Picture Soundtrack, Dogwander, etc).
They did a 10 year anniversary already that remastered the album and added b-sides/live tracks so hopefully they just don't repeat that if this speculation is TRUE.

Don't forget the original version of The National Anthem that was gonna be a b-side to No Surprises but was replaced by How I Made My Millions.

Even more posters were spotted in new cities and spots today/tonight. I'm OFFICIALLY buying into this hype. Radiohead are definitely releasing a 20th anniversary edition of Ok Computer. They recently got the full rights from EMI over the last year. It's go time. Obviously I'm craving all those unreleased songs and demos like:
- True Love Waits - Lift - Nude - Big Boots - Last Flowers - Dogwander - I Promise
Maybe even songs like Follow Me Around, Motion Picture Soundtrack. Either way, I'm fucking pumped.

I've never massively 'got' OK Computer, I've listened to it loads and although its clearly a great album I much prefer other Radiohead albums like The Bends and In Rainbows. I think part of the problem was that when I was first getting into music it was lauded as 'the greatest album of all time' by Q so I went in expecting so much that I was inevitably underwhelmed. I'll probably pick up this reissue and give it another proper go.

Things I want from Radiohead this year: - A Moon Shaped Pool Live From the Basement. - Ok Computer re-release featuring unreleased songs from the time. - Cut a Hole / Skirting on the Surface. - Jonny to wear that "BABES" t-shirt again. Thnks. - If AMSP from the basement was gonna happen it would have taken place already. They had off the entire second half of 2016. - Cut A Hole and Skirting On The Surface will be saved for a future Radiohead album - Jonny can do no wrong

Remember Jonny talked about finding the right version of songs like Lift a couple of years ago and everyone thought it was LP9? Maybe they're gonna do something with it for this...
Also, I've had a feeling since the moment I heard True Love Waits that AMSP was the final Radiohead album...perhaps they're tying up all the loose ends by releasing all those unheard songs?
Not a chance AMSP was Radiohead's final album. This band is in great spirits and enjoy what they do. Plus they always take massive 4-5 year breaks between albums. No need to end it. Record/tour when you want. No rush.

Eeeeeewwwwwwaaahhhhhhhooowwweeeeeeeweeeeeeeee........ Fucking terrible band You are like a musical hobbit living in the Shire. And no, you aren't one of those hobbits who went on a "journey" either. You stayed behind listening to the same old music over and over. But trust me, a bigger world awaits outside. You just gotta be brave enough to take a step or two. I'd be disappointed in myself if I only listened to Oasis and their influences and/or their likes. That is an extremely LIMITED scope. Forwards!

Several music publications have contacted Radiohead management about the posters and OKC 20th anniversary. They were told "No comment". Storm is a brewing'!

That was my inital thought aswell. But I guess (and hope) that Lennon2217 is right. With all the individual members doing their side projects simultaneously there's no reason to break up the band

I am the key to lock in your dress That keeps your toys in the basement And if you get to far inside You'll find come out where you came in So tuck the kids in safe tonight And shut the eyes in the cupboard I am the weapon that you needed Keep an eye out for the neighbors Anywhere you turn I'll be there Open your skull Climbing Up the Walls
