I like the dark 'Wicker Man' video and strings on the song. Probably my favourite new tune so far this year.

Fuck me, that ending. Hey Ashcroft, that's how you use strings.

Mmm, I like the arrangement, but it sounds a bit bland to me on first listen. I expected something more challenging and this is basically pop.

It sounds like an UNKLE song, with Thom on guest vocals.

'Amazing Day' still a better effort.

Glorious idiosyncratic strumming by J. Greenwood! (Wait is this even a guitar...?)
Glorious.

Love those strings. Very good tune overall.. I was just hoping for a louder, stronger build-up near the end.

Dyou know, I really like some of Radioheads stuff, The Bends, Ok Computer, In Rainbows but I just can't understand how they're held up as this pseudo intellectual great hope of modern day music. They're alright but nothing earth shattering, give me a good melody any day. Anyway, this new song doesn't really hit me as anything special.

Sounds well recorded and soundwise it is good but the song is rather poor and pretty meh. Video is good.

Im not blown away but im not disappointed either. Its a solid song, but isnt remarkable. I reckon they have released the most accessible and radio friendly song first, as with most albums, and hopefully the album will contain more rockier or experimental tracks.

People like the idea of Radiohead being a game changer for music more than the music being game changer itself. It's like girls believing they are princesses. They know they will never be, but they like to think they are. It's a good packaging with nothing in it, if you will.

A bit bland innit?
This song is meh, I was hoping for something more louder, more in your face, and to think that they have 3 great guitarrists, what a waste.
I bet their new album will be another slow weird mellow stuffs and people are sick of it coming from them, give up Thom, in this department you will never better the perfect Pyramid Song.

I'm still at work so I haven't had a lot of time to listen to it. Only once but I really dig it. Surprisingly up beat song and the strings are killer. A complete pivot from The King of Limbs sound. A good thing....

It's not the next How to Disappear Completely, but it is a great first single. Danceable, fast, and a totally new sound. Definitely gets me more excited for the album.
Oh, and the ending climax is fucking biblical.

Just listened on better headphones and it justs gets better and better. The "sing a song of sixpence" bit is catchy as fuck and the violins sound so violent - which is a great contrast to the slow and sexy bass synth. And man, Colin's funk groove on the second verse. And then THAT ending. Great song, although I'd be surprised if even better wasn't to come.

This dark orchestra arrangement reminds me of the orchestra break in All Around The World (at 4:23). This song is probably as much "Oasis" you can get with Radiohead.

Erm......what's with the rather lukewarm reaction around the web? That was great, really great! Now THAT is what I wanted, and even better as I didn't expect it.
I was ready to roll my eyes and slate this as bordering on formulaic and dull for Thom Yorke when considering the last few years. But this reminds me of Jonny Greenwood's soundtrack to There Will Be Blood.
It's a fairly deceptive start with the jaunty strings but the mood of the song gradually descends from innocence to threat and finally malevolence with the shrieking crescendo. And that video is one of the best I've ever seen - I used to watch Camberwick Green as a kid, so nice way to soil childhood memories! But it's unsettling as a result like the whole song. I'll put it out there - bar maybe Codex, it's better than anything from Yorke and co in the last 9 years since In Rainbows.
Love it, and from an album that before today I really couldn't care that much for, I now can't wait for the rest.
