So far Liam and Noel have only let us in on the songs they will definitley include but now i've uncovered the full list of tracks that Noel wants to make up the collection"

Well for one thing, 18 songs can easily fit on one disc. I make numerous mix cd's (some oasis) and sometimes get between 17-22 songs on it.
I can see not having Live Forever etc. on there. Noel didn't want to do this. This is not their official goodbye album.
I am surprised that they would give Sony two new songs. Why not save them for the new deal. Unless Noel wants to completely start fresh with new record deal.
When they finally put out the Definitve collection it will be like a four disc cd w/ a dvd and all the whistles and bells.
Are we just miffed b/c the non believers won't have Live Forever to convince them? DM sold, even in the U.S. it went platinum. The other albums need a push. Half The World Away should not be on there however.

Don't think so... I hate the sun. I really hope that isn't the collection. Although there are good songs on there, some of them could be replaced with much better ones like slide away, morning glory, or live forever.

yea, the only thing that makes me skeptical is that live forever isn't on it. but this is pretty much what i've been reading that people wanted. DYKWIM? and AATW are on it. Whatever is on it AND two new songs are on it besides just one. if any of us personally could pick 18 songs, we'd still bitch about certain songs being left off. this isn't a "greates hits" as noel said. he said it was a collection of songs. therefore, i could see LF being left off knowing that information. they also wouldn't leave Supersonic as well. but yea, this may be bullshit, but i'm just saying.

Well Noel hasn't publicly commented on it yet, but the press release made it clear that it was "a dream setlist" and "the definitive collection - chosen by the band". Normally I'd agree with you but All Around the World, Champagne Supernova and DKWIM are all such long songs, they probably would have to do two CDs to get it all in. If that's the case though, they should just add more songs since two CDs could probably fit more. |

the thing with LF and C&A is that they've been playing them in every oasis show since they started so I guess they're a bit tired of it and want to show some respect for some other tunes.... I can even recall Noel saying at the beginning of this tour, or maybe at the end of HC tour, that he was sick of those songs... anyway I think that stlist is mega. I take for granted that the 8 no.1 singles must be on there, it's a fucking pride to have a no.1 single let alone 8... coldplay has no no.1 singles yet.... I'm looking forward to an official statement but I'd be happy with this list, the only song I'm doubting is Whatever....

I wonder if he will remix some songs....Cast No Shadow sounds better in the film... |
