I can't. But I'm sure you get my point. Not really. I don't get some people's expectation, belief or even hope that he'll one day come out with some experimental mindfuck. Whatever he releases next, it'll likely fit very nicely on Radio 2. I know, but you get my point.

A single before Thanksgiving would be cool.

[quote author=" teadrinker" source="/post/1134349/thread" timestamp="1Safe, middle of the road stuff for casual music listeners. Name me one Noel-sung song, in both Oasis and NGHFB, that would sound out of place on "Radio 2". Magic Pie. Can't see Ken Bruce playing that one. Jo Whiley maybe, but not the rest!

word on the street is that Noel is still deciding what song the comeback single should be. Date and b sides are picked. It always seems like Noel struggles to pick singles. Same thing happened on Heathen Chemistry (Wanted Force of Nature), DBTT (Wanted Mucky Fingers) and HFB (Wanted IIHAG or WAL). Is that part about Force of Nature ACTUALLY true? Like a confirmed fact? If so, Noel REALLY doesn't know what he's doing. Good songwriter, rubbish single-picker...

If I remember correctly, Noel wanted it as the lead off single if Liam was able to handle the vocals. Then he wanted it as the second single over SCYHO. Said he only agreed to SCYHO if FON was the third single. Crazy but true. I remember Jim having HC era radio interviews with the band on his site. Some of this was mentioned there.

Yeah. I like FON but it would've been a weak single.

Gordon Smart of The Sun has called the new album a masterpiece on Instagram.... what exactly did he say? He is good friends with noel tho and a big oasis fan. I must say I am expecting (hoping) for a really good album from noel. He seems to be on form with his songwriting at the moment judging by the demos, alone on the rope ect that we have already heard, and after the long wait since the last album he should have plenty of good tunes stockpiled for the album. I just hope he has picked the best songs! Its annoying that we haven't got any more info- the silence is deafening!

He said:
"heard new #HighFlyingBirds album a couple of weeks back and it's a MASTERPIECE. Absolute peach of a record..."

Well he wouldn't say it's crap would he? And may I assume, judging from that, that he's sticking with the High Flying Birds thing?
I'm very hyperactive and excited.

I wonder if he's going to keep the "Noel Gallgher's" thing in front.

If journalists are already listening to the album surely it won't make it to March before leaking?! All it takes is it to fall into the wrong (right) hands of one potential leaker!

Noel better hope the album doesn't get leaked if people have already heard it. Its always risky these days holding back a finished album for so long before releasing it.

You always think you're guaranteed, at the very least, a very solid record from Noel (i.e. being the sole songwriter). Even Be Here Now for all its faults and criticisms it receives isn't a bad record as the majority on here know only too well. I loved High Flying Birds because it was simply Noel writing all the songs again, just like the 90s - as such, it's miles preferable to Oasis albums 2000 onwards.
But just be a bit wary with journalists hyping it up before release - remember Dig Out Your Soul? Edith Bowman saying she'd heard the new album and that they were 'on fire' and 'they'd really hit good form', plus the NME saying it was 'really really great'?
Dunno whatever happened to that album, I've yet to hear it....

Oh I loved DOYS. It's just that the producer wasted it's full potential in my eyes.
