i think people who 'get' a song like this are the ones who separate the "Wonderwall"-type Oasis fans from the real rock and roll Oasis fans.......it's got that DM era attitude and balls-to-the-wall noise. SEPARATE THE WHEAT FROM THE CHAFF YO You sound like a knob, tbh. Most of the hardcore Oasis fans (i.e. the people who visit this site) like both. I fucking love Oasis' real rock'n roll moments...nothing for me tops listening to bootlegs from the Be Here Now tour, where there's a guitar riff every second of music...but I also love the quiet, more thoughtful and meaningful stuff too like Cast No Shadow and Half The World Away. That's always why Oasis has appealed to me so much, because you get great rockers and EQUALLY GREAT softer acoustic songs in the same fucking band. Your "one or the other" bullshit is such narrowminded thinking...I wouldn't love the band as much as I do if they only did one style of songs.

SEPARATE THE WHEAT FROM THE CHAFF YO I'm a huge Oasis fan and I also get fairly annoyed at fair weather fans especially at gigs but just because you like a certain song doesn't catagorise you one way or another, For example DM is my favourite Oasis album by a mile and I haven't got much time for MG however I prefer Wonderwall to Cigarettes and Alcohol; does that make me less of a fan?

I love it, Stand By Me is one of the best singles IMO. andddd perfect thread for me to ask this lol, is it "as I SAW on the breeze" or "as I SOAR on the breeze"?? I always thought saw but then it finally hit me it might be soar and that makes more sense Most definitely 'soar'.

Brilliant tune. The collection of the single and b-sides for SBM is arguably in their top 5 of all time for me.

The verse is good. The chorus is awkward. If you think (I Got) The Fever is awkward, ya better skip the next track Sister Lover.
