Really hope this album gets released. Even if it's only a bonus disc to the next HFB album.

is that terry kirkbride on drums? Why Terry Kirkbride wasn't hired as a full on band member and drummer for the High Flying Birds-project is a mystery to me. I mean, during the Oasis days post-2002, whenever a drummer wasn't available or if just for recording demos, he was the first option (probably the most convenient and thankful for Noel as well). His style somehow totally reminds me of Alan White with a hint of something less jazzy - I think it would have suited the whole HFB-album perfectly. I also always thought that the drumming on SAHITS couldn't have been Jeremy Stacey's work. Jeremy Stacey meanwhile, of course he's a good drummer and all, but (not being a professional musician)...his playing is just so static and "dumb". Like for example on the original "If I Had Gun" - it just sounds like someone hitting the top a filled trashcan in a monotonous ways, especially the verse-bridge-changes. But D Sardy might also be to blame in that case. Judging by the 2009 soundcheck we all knew, I always imagined "If I Had Gun" to be either that kind of touching (whatever that means acoustic ballad, in the style, tempo and same vein of "Talk Tonight", and was heavily disappointed by that one-dimensioal, soft rock kind of production, the dumb drumming being the cherry on the cake... Anyway, 2 years after, I'd rather listen to "Shoot A Hole Into The Sun" or, for that matter, to some of the acoustic version Noel recorded (the one for radio "Eins Live" in Germany being the best performance- and qualitywise), then to the original song. I'm really anxious to hear Noel's recordings with the AA in some way, but i highly doubt it's going to happen anytime soon, if ever.

Hinting that the aborted AA album might be released? Well it's probably something that is sill on their plates if they are bothering to post this. Not irrevocably shelved hopefulyl Fingers crosse

Maybe he simply didn't want the gig. the endless tour & all. Some people are happy just being session musicians. I remember reading somewhere Makr Coyle turned down the 2nd guitar position when Bonehead left.

Not that interesting but Jeremy Stacey was back drumming with Sheryl crow this week. Think she is touring this year so maybe a case he won't be back

terry kirkbridge had a great style. down to earth, rootsy, and not heavy handed. jeremy stacy's drumming, pretty much any drummer could play his style. i do like his drumming on If I Had a Gun though. Let's the song breathe.

They could probably just be working on another project and Noel so happened to be involved because of his solo work on the remix album previously.. I don't know. It could be anything!

But judging by the very short edit you hear on the clip, the released version of "Shoot a Hole Into the Sun" is probably bound for another Amorphous Androdgynous album project much like the releases of 'A Psychedelic Bubble Exploding In Your Mind...' compilation albums. Maybe Volume. 4 is on its way?

IIRC there was an interview where Noel claimed that Terry is a great drummer but bit of a pain in the arse to tour with and couldn't stand him for long periods of time. I just tried to do a quick search from SCYHOnews blog to see if I could find the interview but obviously there's hell lot of Noel interviews so...

AA are a pair of charlatans. No idea what Noel hears in them.

the AA sessions need to come out. Still pissed at Noel and AA for not giving this the proper attention. I mean when he held that press conference and announced that he not only had a solo album out, but also a collab with AA it was a dream come true. Anticipation does have a habit to set you up for disappointment. Sure the AA remixes are indulging, but there's so much promise. I mean who doesn't love organ, sitar, bongos, crazy psychedelic chicks, extended guitar solos, and groovy bass lines? Hope we get to hear these some day, can only imagine what the new tunes were like.
Shoot A Hole Into The Sun isn't the greatest thing ever, but damn when you're in the mood it grooves and keeps you on the edge of your seat. The bass line is great and I love the bouncy rhythm.

heartburn : finally someone saying the truth Cast: " I mean who doesn't love organ, sitar, bongos, crazy psychedelic chicks, extended guitar solos, and groovy bass lines?" I do, but don' t wanna all the sound to ruin a song which is brilliant on its own and their effort to make every song as long as possible is going on my nerves. As Noel said : "They were grooves and, you know, there weren’t many chords in them. And the mixes weren’t fucking right. And unfortunately, I didn’t have time to go back in and remix it." If he is not 100% sure that the songs are ready to be released I trust him. For me it' s better no release rather than some hippie trippy shit being released.

i was far more interested in the AA project than HFB. Still hoping for it, or at least some of it to appear as a cheeky bonus disc. SAHITTS was the most interesting thing Noel did in his last cycle.
