It was you and mar who started the legendary "Chlli, Beer an Oasis" Oh and chilli band. Wow I was stoned I always thought that was lionsden® who started ? No ? No, it wasn't lions. It was some Sunday night in January 2005 when chano and mar started to talk about chilli on our Sound & Vision board. It meant to be a joke and it was a joke, but we all were having a good laugh, then dixon joined the conversation, then I joined, then caro joined, then eva joined, even mape joined so on and on. It was for nothing and everything. We even formed a chilli band with globe (drumms), Wireless (guitar), lions (triangle), me (tambourine), chano (vocal), caro (manager), mape (cheeky cardplayer), SG (roadie) and of course eva was also involved with this chilli gang too. When I think back about it, we should thank webby to let us having on this forum those days.

That was when the forum wasnt so easy to read , now I just tap recent threads Nd my posts are everywhere me back then I was in lounge , rock and roll star , DBTT , and the other band threads but not sound and vision ....totally makes sense ....I miss those days . The official England song FUCKING SUCKS.
Seriously, what the fuck is this utter shite?
Leave it up to the fans once again.
Actually, that's my favorite part of the build up - youtubing England songs. Gets me proper hyped.
But there's an FA Cup to cock up, first.

£90 for the shirt, fucking extortion. at least the shirt doesn't have a collar. God bless. I liked the collar style shirts that were so prevalent in the 90s. That England kit is class though, but almost $200? You're 'avin' a laff. Especially for a bunch of chancers who'll go out at the quarter finals.

Can't wait til this starts.
I think we (Chile) have an unbelievably hard group (though we are not as fucked as the Costaricans). If we get through it would be great, got a good starting 11 but no bench. Still think Spain should go through and hopefully we can knock the Dutch out. We have had some good games recently.
I think Belgium will be the surprise of the tournament. Have a real good side, still young, but amazingly talented players. England won't do much, short squad. Argentina will be a let down, can't see Messi doing it on his own, Aguero been injured quite a bit this season and no Tevez. Plus Brazil is worst place for them to play at.
Brazil should win it, being at home and Felipeo has really brought the squad together. Germany should be the other finalist. I hope they win, but it's going to be hard against Brazil at home and with a pretty good team.
Great thread by the way!

I'd be happy to get out of the group if I'm honest, I don't think I've gone into a major tournament with such pessimism World Cup 2010 was an utter disaster. A massive cock up. I never saw a team play that many games in a row with absolutely no character. And who can forget about McClown in 2008? Jesus Christ. I like our group - it's much more interesting this way. I'm not sure what to think of Roy yet. I am a traditionalist though, and it's nice to have an Englishman in charge of England again. Fabio did well in games prior to WC 2010, but everything about that last world cup was a disaster. Can we please just bring back Terry Venables? Or Hoddle, I would settle for Glenn Hoddle (who, interestingly enough, has one of the highest winning percentages (60%) - but unlike Fabio, who's is even higher (67%) - we actually performed at the WC 1998. That was my first ever WC that I followed (although I do remember watching the Euro96 semi-final vs. Germany - I think that's the first game I actually remember watching). WC 1998 is still the best one in modern times for England. I remember watching that crazy Argentina match - THAT is what I want to see from us (with a different result, of course....). David Seaman (true legend), Tony Adams, David Beckham, Steve McManaman, Paul Scholes, Teddy Sheringham, Alan Shearer, Michael Owen (and that was when he was actually good), Ian Wright (only mentioning his name because it's literally insane how little he featured on the national team). England have quite a solid team this year but they always do and never really go far..
Imo its going to be down to Spain (again) and Brazil because theyre hosts, if they both make it to the final Spain will maul them though..
Forza Azzurri!

I remember watching euro 96, Gazza s goal against Scotland, three lions on the shirt, southgate missing the penalty and of course France 98, England had a great side, deserved more. Against Argentina not having Beckham sent off I think England would of gone on to the next round (to face the Dutch). Owens goal that day wa extraordinar. Even in 2002 England had more attitude than today. I reckon England will have a hard time In their group this time. Hopefully they can pull it off. I am always rooting for England after Chile, after all was born there,

I agree, McClaren was a joke with England, but it's amazing to think how long ago it was. In all seriousness, at the moment he's doing a great great job with Derby County. They were like mid-table/bottom half when he arrived earlier this season, and now they are third in the Championship. I think if he'd been there since the start they'd be looking at automatic promotion to the Premier League But importantly, his tactics have actually changed too. He's not the boring long ball merchant he used to be, and Derby are actually playing some great attractive and attacking football. They are favourites to win the play-off (though the play offs are never predictable) but if they don't get back to the Premier League they will favourites next year I think. I think the England job really shook him up. In reality, he was too young at the time also. If he went back, I don't think he'd be doing no worse than Roy Hodgson.

Neuer the goalkeeper? Really? With Casillas and Courtois around?
That's a joke...

Neuer the goalkeeper? Really? With Casillas and Courtois around? That's a joke... Yeah, that was my first reaction too. I would replace Suarez with Aguero, though that's harsh on Aguero - I'd go 4-2-4 with a front four of Ronaldo, Messi, Suarez and Aguero!
