I know I've said it before but I'll say it again. Their run from Alligator to High Violet is remarkable. Those three records are all great, some of the best of that period 2005-2010. They have a claim for being a top 5 band creatively during that span. Alligator has some serious tunes on it Looking For Astronauts, Baby, We'll Be Fine, All The Wine, and Mr. November. Boxer soundtracked my first semester of college. Apartment Story takes my back to those years every time I hear it, that ending is one of the best subtle outros ever. They did provide the soundtrack to a pretty depressing period in my life, so a lot of these tunes are bittersweet for me. Takes me back to my freshmen year dorm room and just feeling so out of place to who i was around.
Newest stuff doesn't impress me as much, but these dudes do what they do and they do it well.
