I was talking to a DJ yesterday movie/game soundtracks are suppose to help you concentrate or work. I have no Idea where he pulled that from but had anyone ever heard that one before? What are your favourite soundtacks?

Quadrophenia Control The Great Rock N Roll Swindle The Sound Of Music
and at last, but not least "There's Only One Jimmy Grimbel". It's a film for the youth actually, but one of my all time favourites. I think every Gallagher fans should watch this film at least once.

Vangelis' soundtrack for Blade Runner is one of my favourites. Audio Fidelity recently released a great pressing on red vinyl, which you can hear a needledrop of below and there's also a hybrid SACD of the same mastering out too. Another one that springs to mind is Danny Elfman's score for Batman (the 1989 Tim Burton film. Love the huge dynamics on this (watch your volume if you're listening on headphones ) Basil Poledouris' music for Robocop is fantastic too Brad Fiedel's Terminator soundtrack is another favourite... definitely not background listening though, especially once it kicks in... if you listen on a good speaker system the percussion alone will shake the foundations.

I'd agree with Trainspotting.(there are two by the way, a second soundtrack of additional material is available but the first is much better)
24 Hour Party People is another one of my favourites. Great songs and a great film.
About a Boy soundtrack by Badly Drawn Boy is very nice.
The soundtrack to Motorcycle Diaries is another of my favourites.
The soundtrack to the 2003 documentary film Live Forever has many of your key britpop era songs on 2 discs.

Trainspotting, 24 hrs party people, Control, Tarantino's movies... classic! Morricone too. Also like "500 days of Summer", "11.6" (check it out : www.amazon.com/11-6-Bande-originale-Philippe-Godeau/dp/B00C5LLK4W ), "Monsters" (by Jon Hopkins), "Eternal Sunshine Of A Spotless Mind", "American Psycho", "Beverly Hills Cop", "Inception", "Berlin Calling" (the movie where Paul Kalkbrenner kind of his own role), "Virgin Suicides" and "Lost In Translation" (when they take the taxi and Scarlett fall asleep... My Bloody Valentine song : perfect!) ...

Drive (2011) has a tasty synthwave soundtrack, like a gateway drug into the genre itself.
