I'm sorry but what exactly is the excuse that those in favour of guns give? Is it literally just "we need our protection, you can't take our guns, we need our guns for - for... they took er gurns! Der ker der!"? When will you realise that if people are allowed to buy hand guns, they will use them and things like this will - and do - happen as a result.
Totally moronic...

Fuck sake, and you're the one who is desperate to be British? You could learn a lot from our rules on guns. 99% of folk in this country look on in utter disbelief, and I can only feel sorry for all those Americans who live with such ignorant tossers. The United States has 10.2 gun deaths per 100,000 people, the UK has 0.25. FACT. Such stupidity is beyond belief in the US that it makes me angry, I really don't know how thick some people can be to not realise the dangers. Put guns in the hands of Americans, and you have 11,000 dead every year.

How about we spend out efforts on finding out the motives and correcting a problem with society and the individuals rather than papering over the cracks. - That's my point, I don't really care if guns are banned or not. Instead, I care a about substantive policies....

Obviously feel terrible for the victims and there families but also feel bad for Obama, who has to see this shit happen AGAIN after being hamstrung by the dim republicans and their gun lobby friends.

"dim republicans"? I thought this site was devoted to Oasis music and music in general. If I want to hear this kind of benighted stuff I can always toggle over to Daily Kos or Huff-Post. Why here? Must we always politicize everything? peace.

You could also explain to me how the Republicans didn't tie the presidents hands over gun control if you disagree?

It's a sad and horrible thing, and it's becoming more and more frequent. My senior year of high school, there was a shooting in our school. My husband was in the classroom when it happened. (Don't read into that too much - he wasn't my husband back then.) Absolutely horrible that even children can get their hands on guns and use them to kill each other. There's no 'one' solution. It's going to take, as NL4E said, looking into the reasons and the motives, and work at correcting that. But it's also, as so many others have said, also going to take stronger laws. No, we're not going to get rid of the guns off the streets and out of the hands of the thugs with stricter laws. But its a damn good place to start. Let's start taking a look at the other countries who don't have the same issues that we do, and start taking a serious look at what it's going to take for us to get there. It's worth it. Every time I hear of another mass shooting, it's worth it to do something about it.

Yes, this forum is to share your love/opinions for Oasis and music in general, but you can also talk about sport and general stuff (lounge). and this section is for political stuff.

Not as bad as once was - unless you take your current affair knowledge of Britain from that expert political commentator, Noel Gallagher - and one thing, if you had to have a choice, would you rather be stabbed or shot? The vast majority of stabbings in the UK survive such attacks. The majority of those shot in the USA do not survive. Easy choice.

You could learn a lot from our rules on guns. Just out of curiosity, what are the British laws on guns? (I'm not being sarcastic, I'm genuinely curious.)
