Hello, everyone!
I'm a 36-year-old originally from Venezuela, now living in the US. I first got into Oasis in '95, when the Wonderwall/Don't Look Back in Anger/Champagne Supernova/Morning Glory videos might as well have been a show unto themselves on MTV. I was in college at the time, though, stupidly busy, and didn't actually begin buying the records until '97, so I had the special pleasure of listening to Definitely Maybe, Morning Glory, and Be Here Now all in one session. Just ask my coworkers at the time, as we had all three CDs on constant rotation for about a month, till one of them begged for something new.
Still not quite over the band's breakup, though I supposed it was inevitable. Greatly enjoying Beady Eye and Noel's own stuff, though sometimes it's hard not to think "this one would have sounded so muich better as an Oasis track", but that's life for music fans, eh?
Along with the usual bands seemingly common to Oasis fans (Beatles, Stones, The Who, Kasabian, Monkeys, Miles, etc.), I quite like prog and heavy metal, as well as new age stuff (really, a catch-all term for eclectic musicians like Michael Manring, Nightnoise, Phillip Aaberg, and the like). Catch me in the right mood and I'll even throw in some music from the fat dancer from Take That (don't tell our kid.) No shame in loving a little pop. Roxette and Gyllene Tider about round it up (Per Gessle being the Scandinavian Noel Gallagher, for me. Never a truly dodgy song, him.)
Though I live in the US, my lifelong football allegiance has been to LFC, current misfortunes notwithstanding. When the US and Venezuela meet on the pitch, it's my adoptive country I root for, much to the annoyance of my fellow Venezuelans.
Happy to be here, though I wish there was less sectarism. Keep calm and love the Gallaghers!
