Whether it's Liam and his dramas or the slightly improved vid, something is working. 4 days and now over 291k views. Might even reach 400k or 500k by the end of the month. I do expect the momentum to drop a little though. It already has. Someone posted 180K after one day. That means only ~110K in the subsequent 3 days. It was imbedded on tons of tabloid websites and blogs that first day but those stories are old news now so it's going to need to spread on word of mouth now. It's definitely gotten more attention because of the scandal. But I think the extra views will only mean anything if people chose to buy something by BDI after watching it. We'll see what the album sales do in the next couple weeks.

^Exactly, and if the song was actually good like SA/SCT/FOTF, people would've been far more compelled to click on other Beady Eye videos or buy their music.
As it is now, those numbers are absolutely meaningless because the song is shyte and won't pique anyone's curiosity level whatsoever.

Why do you post the same utter shit about beady eye in almost every thread? I mean, maybe this is just me and it's probably a bit out there, but if I don't like something, I don't constantly write about it. Get a life.

I like how you chose to completely ignore my point and how I praised 3 of their songs in that same post. Excellent selective reading there pal.

'I mean, maybe this is just me and it's probably a bit out there, but if I don't like something, I don't constantly write about it.' Any thoughts on this. Oh and I like both the song and the video. Wouldn't have been my choice as I still think Start Anew has the best potential as a single but maybe that will coincides with the tour.

So because I disagree with the choice of the single and think there are better potential singles on the album...I'm not supposed to....mention that...on a fan discussion board?...:What?
I clearly like some of their songs as noted in my post. If I didn't like Gallagher's music why would I be here? :s

shine a light is a great song, I said from the start it was single worthy, sure its a little repetitive but couldn't you say the same for wonderwall? (one of my favorite oasis songs)

(one of my favorite oasis songs) Excuse my ignorance of musical structure, but Wonderwall has three different sections. The verses, something in the middle which I don't know what to call it and then the chorus. Shine A Light has verses and then that 'Shine a lala shine a light' bit as the chorus and some odd break in style about 3/4ths of the way through. Most of the song just repeats over and over for 5 minutes. Wonderwall has longer verses, more lyrics in general and more 'sections' and is 40 seconds shorter.

Only if they had made a video for Soon Come Tomorrow or Start Anew with this kind of budget... I have a feeling that Start Anew will be the Winter single around the time of the tour. If i am right the decision to put Dreaming of Some Space on Second Bite of the Apple will confuse me a lot.

If i am right the decision to put Dreaming of Some Space on Second Bite of the Apple will confuse me a lot. would've been better on the start anew single (if that happens) but I think the reason why it was on the SBOTA single was too give it a B side without putting a completely new song out there before the album had come out, it teased start anew when reversed but it was distorted so it gave people a taste without giving too much away on a pre album single.

Good points. And looking back the backward song and it been Start Anew backwards did get people talking. The video they did in the bathroom was especially cool so yea that's a good call it did get a bit of interest and hold back all the proper bonus tracks for the album.

By the dreadful standards of Gallagher-related videos, this one is decent.

This vid for SAL cost more than all the other Beady Eye videos put together. And all those naked chicks are pregnant, too.

I think it's pretty unfair the criticism it's getting for being distasteful in light of the recent scandal, it'll have been filmed well in advance of all of this.

^^ I was under the impresion that bands received royalties from views of videos the same way they get a fee from radio plays, however far less lucrative I'm sure youtube pay miniscule amounts, most likely fractions of pennies per view

However, there are many youtubers who make an entire living off of doing it. But they are used to getting half a million views off of every video they release. And when they have 50+ videos, it pays off.

I don't get the message of this vid. Bad acting by Liam, he's a ridiculous copy of himself in this vid. Why all this girls/ nuns / or both? If they want to make money on recent scandals , then it's weird, if not - bad choice for a single, bad timing, bad taste.

You're clearly just looking for fault here he doesn't even do anything in the video he just sits at a table drinking wine, mimes to Shine A Light in a narrow room and lies in the middle of a dozen naked women. The women being naked fits with the theme of the artwork and so can hardly be called bad taste when there's bikini-clad girls and all sorts on music videos these days it's really nothing to get your knickers in a twist about. And no, this video was filmed before the scandals came out

I thought Oasis has always had that individuality we all loved

I thought Oasis has always had that individuality we all loved Do you see any bikini-clad girls on the Shine A Light video. No, the girls here have something to do with the song, because the song is about a priest who has sinned and so the makers of the video have obviously decided to exaggerate it to make an interesting video because that's their job. Similar to the artwork of BE which wasn't an attempt to break into the mainstream by offering desperate blokes (or women) a picture of a naked woman, it was a little bit psychedelic in that it's was so sparse, a little like The White Album contrasted the madness of Sgt. Pepper. The video for Shine A Light is not trying to be "mainstream" either, it's simply fitting in with the theme of the album and of the song itself. Anyway, it's a frigging video, do you think either Gallagher brother cares what their music videos are like?...

The video is shite and Liam admitted it himself. Sure how many times has he iterated that he isn't interested in making music videos?

It's not the 90s anymore, all music videos are shite and no one really watches them.
