Anything like this for Travis fans? Was just curious since they have a new album out in August.

Their official site had a forum for a long time that was regularly used, but I havent given a shit about Travis for a decade so I don't know if it still exists.

There are still Travis fans? Just kidding but seriously it's been a long time since I've met one.

I think people need to be a bit broader in their musical appreciations around here! I love him too. I've seen him a couple of times myself! I used to live in Jacksonville, NC just like him

Radiohead (ateaseweb.com), Coldplay (Coldplaying.com) and PearlJam.com.

I used to live in Jacksonville, NC just like him I'm not really sure why I stopped caring about Travis. I really enjoyed Good Feeling, The Man Who, The Invisible Band but started to loose focus when 12 Memories came out despite it having excellent tracks like Beautiful Occupation, Re-Offender, Somewhere Else and Happy To Hang Around. Did anyone get Fran's solo album? If so, any good?

Did anyone get Fran's solo album? If so, any good? Sounds a bit like me and Coldplay - I was really into them when I was 10-12 when they came on the scene. I used to really really love their music, but as I got older I think they were just superceded by many other acts. I still defend them to the death against those who have narrow tastes limited to lad rock (Parachutes and Rush of Blood are still fantastic) because I think they're very good. I still listen to their music but I don't give them much thought, and as I've got older my tastes have just broadened I suppose. Perhaps the same with you and Travis. Though that said, I love Travis way more than Coldplay and I find them far superior and I'm excited for the new album, with the likes of Arctic Monkeys and Arcade Fire this year. I feel trustworthy of them not to release a bad album, unlike Coldplay. As for Fran Healy's solo album, as good as, if not arguably, better than the last few Travis albums. There's no difference to the sound so if you don't care for Travis you won't really care for the album - it was made purely on the basis that Fran Healy wanted to continue making music while the rest of the band wanted to spend time with their families. Anyway, one of my personal highlights is this tune, a duet with Neko Case. Take a listen!

Huge fan of Travis. Can't believe they never came here so I could go see them live. Can't wait for the new record, it's been 5 long years since the last one.

Wreckorder is a good album. I recently finally purchased Ode To J. Smith. Some really good songs on there as well.

Travis are another great b-sides band too. They have so many, you could fill 4 or 5 CDs with these tracks. Like Oasis, many are album worthy. I'd definitely recommend checking them out. I'm sure you'll find them floating around on YouTube.

I've been buying their singles for the past month when I can find them used on amazon. Fave b-sides are probably Village Man, Ancient Train and Ring Out The Bell. Lots of other great ones too though. Going to see them in Detroit in September and then seeing the Stereophonics the next night. Can't wait for the new album either.
