In light of the track times 'appearing' on wikipedia (although I am sceptical that they are the real track lengths), I wondered what everyone's expectations are. Do you expect the band to stick to a sub-5 minute rock song style for most of the record, or will Sitek have pushed them further with spacey outros and more developed instrumental sections? And more importantly, which of these options would you be happier with, considering we're talking about Beady Eye here and not Pink Floyd (not slagging Liam and co off at all, just 9 minute songs aren't really their..style I think). Sorry if you think this thread is pointless  |

To me, DGSS contained some songs too long (==> repetive ==> boring).
If they just repeat the chorus to death (Do You Know What I Mean style) : NO
If the song is well structured (with intro, big chorus, bridge, solo, outro or whatever you want) : WHY NOT ?
But I prefer short songs, I think they are more catchy.

Just realized, you're the guy who did that amazing cover of FOTF.
You should start thinking about starting a BDI cover band. If FOTF is any indication, you can do their songs more justice than the real band can.

M sorry if you think its misleading. Although there are track lengths out there (fake or not, time will tell), otherwise this thread is to discuss our hopes when it comes to time lengths so I don't think its really misleading  my opinion is pretty much the same, if it gets long just for the sakee of saying 'hey we did an epic long song' then please no. Live Forever, Falling down, wonderwall, The importance of being idle, etc, all under 5 mins and amazing. But If they find the right formula with Sitek for an epic 5min + song, then hell yes! |

Hearing a stripped back version like that really changes the outlook of the track & makes me want to hear a live acoustic version done by Beady Eye (even tough i love the orignal & can't stop playing it) interesting to see how they tackle it live. Keep it up mate & well done on a great version (why not grab the download of Liam's vocal & lay it on top off your playing?) |

If these new track lengths are correct then I'm interested if Start Anew can pull off 9 minutes and still remain interesting but I have to say that I'm wary of "Soon Come Tomorrow"... An Andy song that is cupposed to be a quieter one and lasts nearly 5 minutes, I don't want another The Beat Goes On on my hands....
