Look guys, it isn't Standing on the Edge of the Noize or The Beat Goes On or any of the other shite from the first record so let's be thankful eh.
Sounds great to me, love the brass band, the understated sound behind Liams voice without layers upon layers of guitar.
It wont change the world, nor will the album, and people will still hate but at least they are trying to mix it up a bit.
I didn't care one jot for DGSS but I am with this one, so well done to them.

This^ I think they made a mistake at choosing this as the first single. We'll see how it goes, but it isn't commercial at all. To be honest, i dont think anything on this album is going to sound "commercial" this might be the most radio friendly song out of the entire album... Flick Of The Finger was pretty simple. Easy on the ears, good melody, decent lyrics, not as nasal. It just didn't have a chorus, but that isn't needed in every song.

Thanks for the link, glad I go to hear it. However, I'm not sure I like this at all. Cringe-worthy on first listen. Hope its a grower....

Have a same view on this as Flick of The Finger, the production sounds really great, love the brass and all but both songs just seem really really weak to me I'm trying my best to like it but just can't.

It must be better than I think. I have listened to it 4 times back to back, about to go for a fifth.

Fab production, desperately poor song considering it's a first single. Rips me guts out saying that

This is true. From what we've heard, they can no longer be called Beatles rip offs or Oasis ripoffs. I personally enjoyed DGSS more than HFB, but DGSS really does have some shit tunes on it.

The last part though is awesome i should say... My thoughts exactly. Good song. Not a good single. And the back half of the song is loads better than the first.

just listened to it and tbh i think decent tune, great production but however stupid this sounds the lack of lyrics/repeated lyrics constantly spoils it massively. worrying to be THE lead single.... but its going in the right direction compared to to DGSS!

Thanks to everyone who was kind enough to upload it.
I'm probably going to listen to this song for the next couple of days before I render final judgement on it. On the first listen, I'd say Flick of the Finger is a tad bit better than Second Bite of the Apple. I'm glad they finally released a more developed melody....something with more than two parts. The production sounds good, sometimes it sounds a bit over produced, a bit too layered, not much room for the melody to breath (and it's a pretty good melody). Liam's voice sounds great on here, not as nasally as it was on Flick of the Finger. At least some parts of the sound doesn't sound flat.
But all in all, it's the same complaint I had about Flick of the Finger, the song itself, is only okay. Production/layering/Liam's vocals really save it for me.

I made 2 tweets (one for each song), and it seems to work. I already share it with friends. twitter.com/AleGila

The B-side is shambolic! absolutely abysmal, something you will listen to once and never again!
