This is so so good, absolutely love it. Gets better every time doesn't it? It really does. Completely different to what I was expecting.

Still playing it over and over. First two minutes sound glorious aswell... makes me feel abit pissed aswell though. It'll be written off completely by the critics/press on the grounds that it's Liam.

The lyrics clearly refers to Liam on the morning after the breakup of Oasis and how he needed to create BE to write a new future!!!!! Someone had to do it

Am I imagining this?
Anybody else hear the lyrical melody of the chorus from "the world's not set in stone" in the brass section of this song, and you can almost sing it over the parts of the verses?
I know this is a bit far out, but they did totally re-work the song. Or, at least I'm sure I read that somewhere.

In a nutshell, it is absolutely sh*t. People on here must feel obliged to like it. In my opinion that is absolute pony, and if that is the lead single I will ate my own cock.

I think the production's pretty fantastic. In classic Beady Eye style, it lacks a real hook. It's very promising for the album though, I like what I hear. I'll probably kick around with it on my phone for a while.
Pretty impressed overall, truth be told.

I'm hoping this is more of a teaser than a single. It sounds more like an album track. Something that's not great, but not bad, that fits perfectly in the middle. Singles carry an album. I wouldn't expect this song to carry the album, at least I hope not. It just sounds like a nice album track with good production. So, I'm hoping this is a teaser, more so than an actual lead single.

Is This It?
The sound isn't groundbreaking by any means, but for Beady Eye its a sea change. They are no longer the derivative post Noel mess that made up a good portion of their debut. Instead they sound like a band being pushed kicking and screaming into the 21-century. Despite this something is missing. There are moments where it sounds forced-from the tacky sample that dominates the outro to the Kasabian aping intro, but thats not the main problem. The magic or IT FACT is its main undoing.
Oasis classics were backed by the sound of nostalgia, while Radiohead best work pushed the band and its listeners both sonically and emotionally. Beady Eye bring none of these facets to the table. Instead we have the sound of men slightly confused about where they stand in this market at this time. As Ray Davies once said: I hope tomorrow we'll find better things.
6.2/10
