great production. not a memorable song. but definitely more interesting production than all of the production on all DGSS songs combined. the thing that makes me want to come back and listen for more is the production. not necessarily the words or the melody. I can remember the melody, and it doesn't seem to change throughout the song. I can't recall one memorable line after first listen. Did it "scare me" like they claimed it would? No, but it has certainly whetted my appetite and I want MORE

It's finally here! And I love the sound of it, will have to listen a few more times before I make my mind up completely but the production is definitely top. I really like the melody, didn't think I'd ever hear Liam sing over a 70's soul groove

Beady Eye - Flick Of The Finger
Woke up this morning, I was late, off out on the dark side, With the moon and the room on the wrong side.
I took a needle for myself right back at the seams, I saw my universal gleam.
I see the wonder of life and look for the wall, Taking a walk in the sun.
In time, in just a second like the ghost of a bad idea, I feel myself getting the fear.
Come on, have we decided if we like being part of the plan. It sends us shifting and there’s nowhere to land It's on; it doesn't matter if all of these tickets are sold And all the old stories are told I know you’re gonna tell me that you hear every word I say But the future gets written today; Yeah the future gets written today.
“Don’t be deceived when our revolution has been stamped out and pat you eternally on the shoulder and say that there’s no inequality worth speaking of and no more reason to fight because if you believe them they will be completely in charge in their marble homes and granite banks from which they rob the people of the world under the pretense of bringing them culture. Watch out, for as soon as it pleases them they’ll send you out to protect their gold in wars whose weapons, rapidly developed by servile scientists, will become more and more deadly until they can with a flick of the finger tear a million of you to pieces.”

Thanks heaps. Yea, brilliant production, the song doesnt seem that amazing but im really glad they are going in this direction instead of the old rehashed 60's vibe. Imagine what Sitek could have done to DOYS or some Noel songs.

I quite like the lyrics, particularly this line... "In time, in just a second like the ghost of a bad idea, I feel myself getting the fear"
The production is great and the instrumental and the added speech at the end makes it really interesting too. Positive vibes ahead of the record. I actually think it could be another 30 seconds longer with maybe that chorus again - that might have give it more of a 'single' vibe too.
Pressure is on now in the sense I want the rest of the tracks to excite me and interest me just as much and if not then more.

Wonder who the main songwriter is? The lyrics are better then Liams past efforts. Liking it more and more but doesn't really sound like a single. Do we know that it is the new single? Liam really does have the greatest voice and I love the drums. Bring on the album.

Sounds cool and epic, but i don't think the melodic hooks aren't strong and powerful enough (edit: nah, now i do think it's good ) I wonder how this will sound live. I really see this being the soundtrack of a modern advertising clip. I bet it.

Does anybody else think that this might not be the single? I realize that the single allegedly has a brass section, just as in this tune, but I am wondering if this is simply a promo of sorts.

Is good, but will I be going to be like "this is the best thing ever LG has ever done" nope. I hope this is just an appetiser and not the best track(a la Bring The Light).

Anyone thought that this may not actually be the track we're getting on the 15th and could be a different track?
There was talk of a 4 track promo cd doing the rounds maybe this is just a track of that and not necessarily THE single

I think this is what will be played on 15th April but this just may be an album tracks and that the first official single will be released just before the album is. If it is just an album track then it sure as hell beats Wind Up Dream & The Beat Goes On.

is true though, this one doesn't have hooks or anything that you may expect of a single... but I really like that, cos it is not obvious material.

Really really like it, prefer it to most of the songs on DGSS, if this is just a taster I can't wait for what's coming next!

I really see this being the soundtrack of a modern advertising clip. I bet it.I was thinking exactly the same thing. I'll have to reserve final judgement until I have a listen tomorrow but I'm pretty impressed at the moment. The tune and production are great and Liam is sounding on top form.

its great because its new, but it suffers from beady eye's last effort, for me i don't have any interest in listening to it again.
