I actually really like it, its just hard hitting thats what i love, it does sound like it should lead into an epic chorus but sadly it doesnt. Oh well!

It's a great Statement of Intent, as someone said earlier. Serves its purpose well.

The message in the outro is superb. Shocking. Where was it sampled from? Or taken from? Im sure this has been already answered, but i've been very busy to read the forum on a regular basis lately.

It's taken from Jean-Paul Marat, an 18th-century French revolutionary who was killed. There's a clip from the 1967 movie about Marat (although I don't know if it's the exact clip that's sampled):

It's an unusual phrase. When you google it, it brings up only a few hundred references, which is really, really, really small for phrase on google. It's not widely used. I was curious what it even meant, and hit the book reference first.

I was curious what it even meant, and hit the book reference first. While we're at it, might as well have some fun...Found another couple of references on Google! Andrew Park, a Scottish poet from the 1800s, wrote a poem called Blindness (it's veeeery long): Full text of Blindness
...The diamond stars that stud the vault of blue. Are rushing earthward with o'erwhelming hue ! While streams of fitful fire dart strangely forth. Like those gay lights you tell me deck the North, And on my ravish'd eyes obliquely fall, Refi'acting through the whole ethereal hall ! All, all is now one universal gleam Of sacred Light ! — This is no gaudy dream — 'Tis no delusive dream, my soul replies,
God ! I praise thee ; strengthen still mine eyes !
'Twas thus I felt, when first the gorgeous rays Of light translucent summon'd forth my praise.... And from another poet: www.poetrynation.com/poem.php?id=18931Universal by Megan Selkirk
How vast the world may seem, It is nothing to the universal gleam. The wars are large and dangerous, But do no harm to the universe around us. Our lives are all unique and special, Even if they do not impact the universal. Scientists discover and prove, But these things were already true. Our effort has no impact beyond our world. So why, do we try?

Actually, I would have thought Pink Floyd's Dark Side of the Moon would have been an obvious reference (for the lyrics of the first two lines, not musically).

Well its been a couple of days since its been out. I must admit when you hear a new tune you often have an over the top response (or over the top negative) as its something new.
I'm still enjoying it, i didnt think it was a 'lead single' so i'm glad its apparently an album track. For an album track its very good. DGSS had a fair bit of filler in it, but as an album track i really like this (and the worlds not set in stone i think again is a good album track)
Looking forward to hearing the new single a week today.

I cannot take anyone who is going to see Lana Del rey or muse seriously You like Beady Eye enough to see them three times. Personally, i'm more worried about you than some kid in his teens. Well, I don't actually like Lana Del Rey, I'm just taking someone to see her. And anyone that slags off Muse, but loves Beady Eye just makes me laugh... Like, fair enough if you don't like Muse, and fair enough if you love Beady Eye (I like Beady Eye, btw. I just fucking hate this song)... But if you use both of those factors to try get the higher ground, it's just laughable. And cheers for the support, xtrmntrscream haha

I liked how copy and pasting your Review on 2 different threads here wasnt enough, you did it on the soapbox and they all just dissed you too. Do you think people on the soapbox actually like Beady Eye? It is all an act to piss off the Noel fan boys. In that case, please go back to where you belong to and continue your activity instead of annoying people on here. Thanks.

There's a new thing on the website, where you have to share via facebook and Twitter to unlock more of the song.
It's funny how Liam hates Muse, and his band uses the idea that Muse used to promote The 2nd Law haha

I highly doubt that idea was invented by muse as liking or sharing something to get something else is the basis of commercial social media.

I highly doubt that idea was invented by muse as liking or sharing something to get something else is the basis of commercial social media. As far as I know, they're the first ones to use it on such a large scale... Most of the time, things like this are made up by nobodies, and then used by people more important, and they get the credit... Do you think that Radiohead were the ones who invented the idea for In Rainbows?

I'm not thinking about Radiohead at all tbh
Most of the time these things are done by whatever ever marketing agency the bands management decides to use. If relevant for the bands to mention it it was their idea blah blah.
On a side note I would guess as Liam spent all night getting hammered with Dom after the Olympics he doesn't hate them at all.
