Just tweeted.... "So Robbie Williams is not into Ride? There's no higher praise as far as I'm concerned haha Big day for shoegazing !" Got to say I do like that and it strengthens what hypermyth says about Andy having learnt from Liam...

Robbies quotes are laughable, has he made any decent songs? No. Guy Chambers wrote his only respectable songs, he wrote tripe like Bodies and this... Even this was "co-written" with Gary Barlow, which means Gary Barlow wrote it and Robbie gave it a title, Gary decided it was crap so gave it to Robbie rather than using it himself...

I had never heard that before.
Living where I do Robbie Williams is really only a name that I see on the internet. I never have to even worry about hearing his tunes incidentally. I didn't realize how lucky that was until now. lol

I'm forced to listen to the radio at work, I hear that fucking song usually twice a day! Most of you lot probably don't listen to popular radio much I'd imagine but I can assure you it's much, much worse than you even imagine it being! Almost every song now is about how much some guy loves his unattractive girlfriend or how some girls boyfriend is gangsta yo. It's unbearable!

I'd never heard that before. Isn't he in his 40s now? Pathetic.

Compare the quality of his songs pre-Chambers split to the absolute horseshit he's churned out since... The same could be said of Chambers post-Robbie . The song below was written by Chambers and Nadine Coyle. For the record, I happen to like some post-Chambers Robbie songs and in case you didn't know, Chambers did not write "Come Undone."

Having a pop at Robbie is a bit 90's and a bit embarrassing. Does little to reinforce their argument for relevance when they still dabble in this dated shit.

Ride is just as old mate, they aren't talking BDI here speaking of Ride, is it just me, or is it not easy to find anything they've done these days? Andy keeps being brought up as a songwriter, would like to judge for myself

Robbie did slag off both of Andy's pre-Oasis bands, I thought Andy handled it well. speaking of Ride, is it just me, or is it not easy to find anything they've done these days? Andy keeps being brought up as a songwriter, would like to judge for myself The RideOfficial Youtube channel has all of Ride's songs. Check out each album's wikipedia page for writing credits. Andy wrote nearly all of Nowhere, which most people like best of Ride's output. If you don't want to listen to the entire ablum I'd start with "Vapour Trail" and "Dreams Burn Down". www.youtube.com/user/RideOfficial?feature=watch

Will get ripped to pieces over this but Robbie Williams is actually a decent lyricist when not aiming at the chart performance... i think he writes lyrics and his co writer does the actual music. 'come undone' is an example

'come undone' is an example I agree. Robbie's not great at playing any instruments so he's definitely more of a lyricist than a composer. Although, I do believe he contributes ideas and melodies. During the Escapology era, he did write a couple songs by himself. "One Fine Day" is an example of a song he wrote the music to.

I didn't mind Robbie's 1st 2 albums to be honest. South Of The Border, Karma Killer & It's Only Us were good tunes. I hate that Candy tune though.

Candy sounds pretty good compared to this though.... If Robbie does write the lyrics then it's nothing he should be proud of.... Bodies in the Bodhi tree, Bodies making chemistry Bodies on my family, Bodies in the way of me Bodies in the cemetery, And that's the way it's gonna be All we've ever wanted Is to look good naked Hope that someone can take it God save me rejection From my reflection, I want perfection Just meaningless crap that rhymes Really, really bad...
