Crazy stories Kalas, have a lot of respect for you man, to over come that takes balls. Heroin is a crazy drug, lost a good buddy from high school to it. I still remember when I got a call to let me know.
I think you have to have a lot of respect for drugs. In high school I tried a few things, mostly just to try. In college did a bit more shit and for longer periods. Now a days I only smoke cigs and weed and have a few drinks. Still think there is debate pending (in our societies) about weed and how it should not be placed in the same category as coke, heroin, acid etc. weed is probably less harmful them tabacco and alcohol. There is just a really negative view on it. Fuck while on the whole drugs, there are so many thngs that society deems ok and have addictive properties that could make them considered drugs; coffee and others. Just saying there are drugs and drugs.

And my cousin Christopher wasn't just great looking ,,,cat had the best looking chicks man always...but he woulda been a huge oasis fan....we were the same age but it was him who introduced me to the real cool English music first ,, not the pistols we both got it right away ,, but the jam, the clash , while I was in Brooklyn listening to the classics like zep , the who and such when I went over to his house he would be like Steve they're awesome but check this out ! And it would be "the jam " And other " English sounding bands" he was ahead of me man. So he would be on this place. Kalas 2 you could say lol...wish it was true he was ahead of the curve man but he's not around and it sucks. Heroin sucks ! You are correct in your opinion ,IMO about society debates about weed I agree completely and weed is less dangerous as booze ,I use both weed is way mellowed and is legal in a lot of states and if the govt would get there heads out of there ass and legalize it ,just like prohibition put bootleggers out of buisness making weed legal for all (not just people who medically need it ,, ) would boost the economy here ,..but that's to easy right? |

On your other point, couldn't agree more man. It would be all much simpler under a legal status. You get rid of the fucking dealers, which lets admit are pretty much scum of the earth most times. You tax that shit and get a nice income into the government budget, plus they would tax the shit out it. You would have it regulated, and lets be honest the threat of someone crossing another persons liberties is more likely from a drunk dude than a stoned dude. It's just the double standard that really pisses me off. Your a stand up chap if your a fucking alcoholic but your scum if you smoke some joints. Pus were I am from you see the news and they always arrest some student who has 3 plot plants in his house, while the fucking coke and crack dealers are having a field day. |

There is a campaign now in Florida about how the police need to test drivers for driving while smoking ..like how many joints can you have before your too stoned to drive. Don't know if that's good or not you know? Because if you get pulled over on crack or coke but are able to hide it you just get a ticket ,there is no blow test or odor ,so cops got no cause to request you submit to a test if you just hand him info and are cool But if you smoke weed and are normal to drive but have that odor on you then they have cause to test and who knows who can drive to a standard weed like booze organs drugs effect everyone differently why single out a guy who smoked a joint if he is polite coherent. But had odor. While a crack head can be more apt to speed or fuck up but because he don't smell he just gets a ticket ...slippery slope you know? Agree it seems weed is being singled out there man. As for legalizing we need a new forum my friend on this ...I believe it's easy too many people in power much like the oil affair are making too much under the table money to legalize it while it will help the economy and its people ,it would affect there bank accounts ya know?? That's a topic we need have on a another forum ,lol Oh and by driving while smoking I meant if you take a few hits at your house then drive ,,not drive and smoke..lol |

But returning to the main subject, I am pretty sure Liam still takes drugs while on tour or out on the piss. Could not agree more with you man on everything you said about the situation ..it's ludicrous Big government just talks And lines there pockets in the black market ,,did it in Vietnam did it in oil ,did it in South America in Noriegas day ( as I'm sure you know) and will always do it ...it's a great subject .would love to keep on about it ...but we both know its just a matter of time before someone thinks we are not "on topic ". Drug abuse is out of control now----it's often not even hidden any more, I see young people and not-so-young people smashed out of their minds on coke etc and it's a depressing sight. Most of us must know a couple of mates with permanent brain damage and paranoia through fried brains thru acid and it's pretty frightening stuff.
All-out War on the drug-pushers [rather than the drug-takers] I say......

I didn't think Liam did drugs anymore, but now I've read this thread, I think he might be, but only when he's in the right environment... I can't see that when he's being a grown-up, looking after his kids, spending time with his wife, etc., he ever does anything. He's probably clean as a whistle.
But when he's at a party or gigging, he probably gets into it now and then...
I don't like drugs, I'm not a fan of them at all. I've never touched one in my life, doubt I ever will (Although the effects of LSD seem like they'd be fun to experience- Especially with the music I like)...
I don't mind if other people take them, so long as they're not close to me... If my best friend told me she'd been taking drugs, or if my sister, parents, etc, I'd find the person who gave them the drugs, and hurt them... That would break my heart if they did...
But most people, I don't mind. So long as they don't try to get me to get involved with it. I'd only stop them if they seemed to be causing harm to themselves or someone else...
For me, I don't need anything to have a good time. Don't smoke, don't drink, don't take drugs... Just need some good tunes, and a few mates to get in my zone...
In fact, last year at Reading, a security guard grabbed me during Kasabian because he thought I was tripping on Es... I was just fucking having it.
Anyway, this probably makes no sense, but whatever...
Point is, I don't do drugs, and I won't let people I love do them.

A huge amount of people don't do drugs because they can't have a good time, people do them for a different experience. I stopped doing them some years ago by choice but I wouldn't take back a second of it. Some of those nights were the best ever. Frankly if Liam does a bit here and there on tour or on nights out every now and again I couldn't care less. It doesn't effect his ability to be a dad or a decent fella. |

Literally some of the greatest times times of my life were in high school and colleges when the whole neighborhood would get together usually in the summer go to my high school Trip out on mesc or acid usually purple double barrel mesc bring cases of beer line up the empties on the 50 yard line. And split up and toss the frisbee to knock them down first team to 26 won no body cared we wee laughing too hard and tripping to care ,, then watching the sunrise to some Hendrix coming off the mesc high just chillin smoking some grass man!!! Absolute best days of my youth no doubt ...would not trade for world man Not condoning anything but if I had those same people in my life and it was a Saturday night in June or July Put me in coach ill be at Wagner high waiting man in a heartbeat  Hard drugs suck but those days on that drug were the beat times I ever had give me 80- 88 and Groundhog Day that bitch ( have it every day I mean) i 'll sign up now  |

Noel and Liam never took drugs like smackheads - like Doherty and that lot, they took them on tour nights out etc, just like most of us in this country (and othwer countries i'm sure) and just like most of us as they have got older they probably hardly touch them only on nights out etc.
Everyone who takes drugs doesn't have to be a Cobain/Winehouse/Doherty story.
Most people i know take drugs recreationally on a weekend and live normal lives I suspect Liam is just the same.
Cant see him being a big weed smoker, Gem and Andy Bell are the more hippie student types daresay they smoke weed a bit like
