well shame on Dave Sitek for not having listened to Oasis before lol... but it might be a favor to Beady Eye, help them get more of a distinct identity and not just compared to Oasis all the time.

The NME has not printed anything credible in the last decade

stop moaning around, because he was just busy and not too interested in this type of music. some of you just got oasis fans during the last years so stop bashing dave sitek. i actually think, that this is one of the best things for beady eye, cause the producer won't let them sound like Oasis, which Lillywhite did in my ears, just mixed with 60s mellowness.

What exactly did he say? Anyone have the quote? He's never heard Wonderwall or Champagne Supernova?
The fact that this man is in the music business and hasn't heard of Oasis is strange, imo. If a random 40-year-old American male said he had not heard of Oasis, I wouldn't be too surprised though.

The quote is about 10 posts back in this very thread thanks but all I see is commentary - not a direct quote from Sitek. Having "never listened to Oasis" (i.e., never been a fan) and having "never heard of Oasis" (i.e., don't know they existed) are two different statements and it's not clear to me, from reading this thread, which he said. Not that I care about Sitek's musical tastes or knowledge. Him being a good producer is all that matters.

I was to busy messing around with drum machines. I missed the boat on that one." The title of the thread is not what he said.

I hate the mainstream media, about half of the times they're completely misleading.

who the Fuck is Dave Sitek Erm, the producer of Liam Gallagher's band actually. Well, you know, who the Fuck is anybody, yes? Little bit of Oasis history. " As the token southerner, Bell is the butt of many jokes. On stage, during the Familiar to Millions album, in response to the arguing chants of "Noel" and "Liam", Noel Gallagher appealed for the crowds to "fuck all that "Noel" and "Liam" shit. Can I have everybody singing Who the fuck is Andy Bell?". www.oasisfanatic.com/band/andy-bell-biography.phpthank you.
