Liam Gallagher took his band on a trip to a planetarium at the weekend."The 40-year-old singer and his Beady Eye bandmates all went to The Royal Observatory and planetarium - an interactive map of the stars and planets - in London where they saw images from spacecraft and telescopes and learnt how objects have been landed on Mars. An onlooker told the Daily Star newspaper: "It's not the place you'd expect to see a rock star like Liam. Perhaps he was getting inspiration for his music. "Everyone was shocked when he swaggered through, looking mesmerised as he peered through the telescopes. He even got to see the birth of a star." After his visit, the former Oasis singer headed to a pub where he told locals how much of a good time he'd had at the observatory and posed for pictures with fans. Liam has previously said he is taking Beady Eye's music in a "psychedelic" direction, and looking at different influences when it has been time to record. He said: "We've gone for the full Pink Floyd trip, man. There's the psychedelic stuff and then the rock 'n' roll bangers. Our producer Dave called up our manager and told him to get a brass band round sharpish one day. "If it makes it a better record, I'm having it, man. I'm buzzing for it. It's going to blow people's minds." Source: home.nzcity.co.nz/news/article.aspx?id=161977&fm=newsmain%2CnrhlUh-oh more on that brass band...anyway getting more and more excited to hear the new album. 'Pink Floyd trip' eh...sounds good to me!

Thanks Bruno You can do whatever you want, Liam, but leave the brass band in your bedroom.

Not a fan of brass mimmihopps? I don't think I am really. Hope there's not to much of that on the album.

It depends, tom. I can't say I hate it, but not for Liam, but it's just my opinion.

For the sake of variety I could handle one track with brass band because it's not something I've heard with Liam before but I don't think his rock and roll style really suits it tbh

He said: "We've gone for the full Pink Floyd trip, man. There's the psychedelic stuff and then the rock 'n' roll bangers. This part sounds particularly interesting...

I'm looking forward to the rock n roll bangers obviously because they usually promise the best Liam vocals but if they're written by Liam I'm not too optimistic, he doesn't have the best record... Ain't Got Nothin' Bring The Light Beatles And Stones Better Man....
The psychedelic stuff could be quite interesting because Liam can obviously sound reminiscent of Lennon sometimes.

I think a psychedelic approach would suit Liam very well. In most cases they are not so hard to sing as the loud rockers. If you compare to Pink Floyd, without generalizing too much, most of theire songs are quite easy to sing. But lyrics are important if you go that way, and that's BEs biggest challenge, not Liam's singing.

I really can't picture the vibe they're going yet. Any psychedelic tunes with brass in it?

Many incarnations of Pink Floyd. Albums vary greatly in style. I wonder which era of Pink Floyd Liam is referencing? I say late 60s/early 70s? Like the albums Soundtrack from the Film More and Obscured by Clouds? Those albums kick ass. I'd be down for that. I didn't like it when Liam said SOTSOG was going to be like Dark Side of The Moon back in early 2000. That one really let me down. Is that ok tomlivesforever? I'm trying to tighten it up for your reading pleasure.

Liam having brass in his songs, Noel and Damon 69ing each other.
The Gallagher brothers are growing up. We just got to come to terms with it.

Brass have always been a good addition to the Oasis sound, so why not ! I hope the result sounds good, whatever instrument they're using. Well except shitty keyboards or fake choirs (erm Noel)

Thanks Bruno You can do whatever you want, Liam, but leave the brass band in your bedroom. Imagine Arthur (Or the Decline and Fall of the British Empire) with Liam on vocals. Maybe that's just insane wishful thinking for the sound of the next beady eye record:)

I think we'll only hear brass on one song, possibly two. I think the whole bringing in a brass band would just be for one song that they thought would benefit from it, that's what I took from it anyway.

I think it should all be brass with Liam's vocals over the top. Marching band/parade style.

Arthur is in my top 5 albums, but imagining Liam singing anything from there doesn't correlate in my mind... 'The sun is SHIIIIIINIIIIING, We're going DRIIIIIIIVIIIN'...
