Noel's mentioned a few times that Sara hardly likes any of his stuff but loves Kasabian. Remember how much Noel raved about Stop the Clocks? I saw an interview a year or so ago where he said it's his least favourite song on the album. I doubt it's a coincidence that Sara hates it.
He might be trying to write songs that he thinks she'll like and that's unhealthy for his output. I hope I'm wrong and he's just writing for himself.

It's not a coincidence that his least favourite song off the album is in fact the worst song on the album

To the later point - I'm a fan of She Is Love. I think it's a catchy little tune.
But to the main point - I totally agree. If Noel is in a happy place in his life I think his music will be weaker. I think artist's music/art/whatever get better when they're not happy.

Noel often falls out of love with songs off albums after he has lived with them a while even if they aren't bad. STC has been around for ages and he's had a contentious relationship with it so it doesn't really surprise me that he's not super keen on it. I think part of the reason that he put it on was because then he never had to revisit again.

Noel said he doesn't like the album version of Stop The Clocks because he recorded it in the wrong key. So I don't think that has anything to do with Sara liking it or not.

Noel should go back on drugs so he can deliver another DM/MG/BHN.
A lot of artists create their best art under the influence of stimulant drugs, Noel was definitely one of them too.

Sara should focus on spending Noel's money so that he has no choice but to release music/go on tour . Seriously though, has she ever been a fan of his music? I heard she likes "Lord Don't Slow Me Down" but that's about it...

Here's the thing about Stop the Clocks. It sounds terrible on the album version. It sounds cheery and upbeat and that doesn't fit the style of the song at all. The demo and sound check version of the song has a certain mystery to it, a dark pensive moodiness to it that's supposed to question one's reality and shit like that. I think those were the elements of the song that made Noel love it when he first wrote it. They should have gone in that direction and expanded on it even further.
It's the same thing with Record Machine, to a lesser extent...it sounds so watered down on the album, he wrote it to be "the next Champagne Supernova" and the final result fell so far short of that. I'm sure he wasn't expecting the song to turn out how it did when he wrote the song 10 years ago. Nothing frustrates me more than hearing songs that have so much potential, that could have been so much more than what they ended up being.
