Planes, Trains and Automobiles Oh my god, what a great film, can't believe I'd never seen it before. John Candy and Steve Martin are brilliant in it. Funny and very touching. I love this film too and am baffled by the mediocre reviews it sometimes gets. To me it's an all-time comedy classic and as you say, moving too. John Candy was a great comic actor and it's sad that we lost him so soon. It's testament to his performance in this film that I can no longer hear Ray Charles' song the Mess Around without mentally replaying this scene...

That's been on my to-watch list for over a year now. May settle down with it sometime in the next week or two. I want to continue watching The Odd Couple tonight - I started it too late last night, but enjoyed the little bit I've seen so far.

I seen reviews of it, and it's got 94% on Rotten Tomatoes. I've only heard praise for it, but I feel those without a heart wouldn't like it. I've only seen pretty horrendous 'comedies' over the last few years - I loved the Alan Partridge film and The World's End but they're British and I knew what to expect (though I thought The Inbetweeners film was just awful), but with American comedies, they have been few and far between over the last few years for me. I found it so refreshing to watch a film that didn't rely on crude humour with awful performances. Planes, Trains has that traditonal and classic double act feel with heart and great performances.

Ah, didn't realise it was so well-rated on Rotten Tomatoes! Good to hear. I think I was remembering some of the original reviews, including quite a poor one in Halliwell's Film Companion (1987 or '88 edition) which I looked at years ago. I'm glad it's had a reappraisal and that you enjoyed it so much. I really enjoyed Alpha Papa and The World's End, and felt that Partridge just had the edge over the World's End. Both hugely entertaining though, and I loved the satirical edge to the World's End, not to mention the fantastic "indie disco" soundtrack. Primal Scream's Loaded sounded monumental on the cinema's sound system! Made me wish they'd included a few Oasis tunes (wrong era of course) mixed into surround for the occasion

Jets-Pats overtime One word: Bullshit! Hopefully the World Series goes to game seven and the same thing happens. A bullshit call by the ump makes the Sox lose? Just the thought of that makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside.

He talks about Lennon, Hendrix, Neil Young of course and Joni Mitchell. How George Harrison said no signing him, Crosby and Stills to a record deal with Apple Records.

Can someone please help me ?
I saw an ad on "MTV Rocks" today. It was some kind of teaser about "Awkward", apparently one of their TV shows. I don't know nothing about it, but in this teaser there was a music, and I want to find the title (electronic music). How can I find this teaser ? Didn't find on youtube, and on the MTV's website no more...
