So as we know the lads have been in Brockenhurst finishing off the mixing of the new album, we didn't know how far off they were done to finishing it off completely though. Gem Archer's wife on Twitter Lou, put some interesting tweets last night suggesting the album is completely finished now:
''Whoo hoo.. sounds amazing go on the boys #BEexcited! xxx''
She also invited a few of her mates round to come and listen to it.
Someone asked her when the album will be released, she replied with:
''it's released in our house''
She put a tweet today saying ''Today I'll be replacing all the blown spotlights in our house. #rockandrollisnotdead x'' about the new album.
Looks like it might be complete, exciting times!

Cheers Rolo, didn't know that #BExcited... I suppose she would say that as the wife of one of the band but its great news that it's probably completed.

#BEexcited is clever, I wonder if there are many Beady Eye fans on twitter. It does sound like it is ready to be released, although Gem might have brought home a not quite finished version...a release date in the first half of 2013 as suggested before would be great, although I could see it being pushed back further.

There is kinda news in Mike Stent's twitter timline. On February 6th Mike tweeted the following: "Goodbye snow, hello sunshine! Back in LA"This makes me believe he is done mixing in England for Beady Eye. Could be great news.

I think it just needs to be mastered now, how long does that process usually take?

Whoa whoa whoa, that's English for stop a horse! Since when was Mike Stent involved in the album? His production/mixing skills are great. Listen to U2's Pop, Muse's Resistance, and of course Standing on the Shoulders of Giants, and I think he's got a decent track record.

It was reported on a Japanese website I think although there hadn't been any official confirmation the last I knew.

I think it just needs to be mastered now, how long does that process usually take? Depends on the complexity (you knew that). From what I've read, mixing is the time-consuming bastard. Mastering is mostly: equalization, ordering the songs, compressing/limiting, reverb, and normalizing. Fucking hell! I didn't even answer your question

Apparently still recording (or back in studio to re-record), according to their facebook status...

I think it is pretty much done. Dave Sitek is back in New York City doing Yeah Yeah Yeah promo/work. Mark Stent is back in LA after being in England for a week or two mixing the Beady Eye record. Only thing left is an announcement of some sorts while it is being mastered.

I don't think that necessarily say's much. Especially being as Andy and Liam are in Dubai. The people running the page might be as impatient as some of us are.

A single announcement must be no longer than a couple of weeks a way now surely?

I think they were just recapping, taking into account most people hadn't seen (or forgot) that 'recording' image. It's a whole different story for us fans, though. I'm also optimistic, think we'll have some news in the next couple of weeks.

Re - the mastering. Mike Marsh recalls that he mastered Be Here Now in one 12-hour session, if that's any help. From what I've read I think that's a typical amount of time to spend mastering an album. Some audiophile reissues take longer I believe. At the other end of the scale Loveless by MBV took a budget-busting 13 days to master...
I believe DGSS was mastered by John Davis at Metropolis, so maybe he will do Beady Eye's second album too. Most of the Oasis-related releases since Heathen Chemistry seem to have been mastered there, mostly by Ian Cooper.
Didn't know Stent was mixing it either! I liked his work on SOTSOG a lot.

Nice one mate, some great insight there as usual, as crunch said, thought it was a longer process than that. Promising!
