So what is the deal with that, read somewhere that Paul (Liam and Noel's brother) tried to get him into another band. So this is actually true.

Yeah, it's all but confirmed he won't be touring with Beady Eye. Let's see who jumps on board.

I posted the Mirror article with that story last week. Someone else has said that he apparently is taking time off to do his own thing though. The Mirror article asserted he was doing something with Gorillaz and that was why Liam was pissed. Probably cooking it up
Blah Blah Blah Blur vs Oasis.
Don't know why they dragged Paul into it. lol
None of the bass lines are particularly difficult for DGSS I don't think. Although I'm not a bass player. I'm sure it won't be hard to find someone good. Jeff is all over the record though so I'm interested to see what he added to the group.

It really doesn't make that much difference. Jeff has done a great job and it appears he's had some input into the album which is also good. But live they don't really need him. I don't mean that in a bad way either.

I don't understand why they've not had a permanent bass player in their line-up tbh?

I don't understand why they've not had a permanent bass player in their line-up tbh? I think they haven't added a permanent bassist because they anyways play bass on the album and I think they like it to be just an ex-oasis members' group. I also like to think of it that way. A permanent new bassist just wouldn't feel right, to me at least.

Most bass players in known bands are actually regular guitarist posing as bassists. usually they really want to take the gloves off and play some guitar rather than bass. Kind of like Andy did for years. Or Macca. Also, if Beady eye is meant to be a "completely new" band, then why not add a permanent bassist to the line-up? This isn't meant to be Oasis minus one is it?

isn't touring how most musicians make their money these days? it's kinda weird he isn't going on tour with the band...
God bless.

Perhaps Jeff wants to create his own music and go out on the road with it. I wish Beady Eye would just name a new bass player. Shake things up. Get away from the ex-Oasis band vibe. I always hated the Spinal Tap syndrome Oasis suffered after Alan's departure in late 2003.

Maybe finding an appropriate permanent bassist might be harder than we think.
I wouldn't think that a band of middle aged men who are past the point in their lives that they are gonna hit it big would be an attractive possibility to fully commit to for any young musician. People in Jeff's age group would be looking for a band their age or solo success with some session stuff just to see them through.
Most men Liam and co.'s age are probably either still in a band, had solo success, have retired from music, or are happy doing session work and wouldn't necessarily want to tie themselves to a single project at this point in their lives.

Then they should go the Smashing Pumpkins way in terms of finding a new bassist. Just imagine how weird that would look in Beady Eye!

What about Andy Rourke from the Smiths? Bonehead?

What about Andy Rourke from the Smiths? Bonehead? Bonehead has his own band Parlour Flames and their debut album is about to be released. They're also doing concerts in the UK so no chance of bonehead being Beady Eye's bassist.

Jeff left because Mr Albarn called.

I wonder if Jeff will be onstage with Noel for the TCT then? If Damon/Noel/Graham do any sort of collaboration.
