Thanks for the link, dude! Edit: Eww, pretty rough. Shame. Julian is singing pretty high during the chorus, like someone is stepping on his nuts.

this is pretty disgusting.
5th album to follow the general downwards trend? The Strokes will end up like Oasis, with just a dwindling fanbase desperately hoping for a return to form every few years. /(although I preferred Room on Fire)

I thought the last album was pretty good. Not exceptional but had some really strong moments on it.

I thought the last album was pretty good. Not exceptional but had some really strong moments on it. 'Machu Pichu' and 'Undercover Of Darkness' are both brilliant songs. Too much effort to try and get into the rest. It was a fairly disappointing album for me.

Great tune, no surprise that Strokes fans don't want any surprises though. this is pretty disgusting. 5th album to follow the general downwards trend? The Strokes will end up like Oasis, with just a dwindling fanbase desperately hoping for a return to form every few years. /(although I preferred Room on Fire) The only difference being The Strokes are at least trying new sounds. Be Here Now-First Impressions of Earth: Considered bloated by critics, fans like it SotSoG-Angles: Tried something new, mixed reactions from fans and critics It's clear that the new Strokes wont be their Heathen Chemistry.

it sounds pretty bad.. the intro falsetto is almost a joke. Sounds as if he was ashamed himself at doing it. Chorus would have been good without that weird effect.
The drums are horrible the synth dosent fit at all. They should really look at The Killers for synth style. It sounds like bad alternative.. all over the place..
the only thing successfuly done IMO is the verses..

One album band tbh. It's been shit ever since. It doesnt even sound finished or mixed properly The Strokes have a lot of good tunes even if they haven't made a killer album for a while. Had a few more listens, I'm now pretty sure its total shite.

since when did the strokes turn into an 80s synth pop band?

comments say the horrible falsetto is sung by their guitarist albert hamond. I hope this is true I'd be ashamed of Julian let himself sing this. This is too dissapointed I expected cymbal crashes but we get beeps and boops and not good ones at that!
their song machu pichu off angles is a much better example of synth done right. its such a danceable song

Yeah i think it's albert singing the falsetto. The thing is the tune isnt bad, but the production is pretty bad. However, a few more listens tend to make it a tad better.

I think the first 50 seconds or so of the song are very disposable, afterwards it gets better but it's a bunt instead of the good songs that came before the other albums(Modern Age,1251,juicebox&undercoverofdarkness)
