For me: The management think the album is "too out there" and decide to hire Timerland to remix the record to make it more "commercial".

The album is shit, bashed by critics and fans alike, the band splits and Liam goes into a celebrity rehab show.

The album is released and the experimental part is just some sitars. Then Gem gets fat. Super fat.

Yeah I agree the worst case scenario (in terms of the likelihood) would be sitars and backwards guitars passing off as 'experimental'. Then the inevitable claims that they are ripping off a certain band begin.

Worst case scenario is that they release DGSS mkII. Not because it's a bad album - I still like it and don't think it deserves the criticism that it gets - but it would make a mockery of the experimental claims and probably kill them off.

I'm not expecting reggae tbh. Experimental could be another exaggeration tbh, but something a little different would be great. New influences and sounds and I don't mind if they have sitar or backwards guitar on it.

i hope the album is really weird and alienates a lot of people. my gauge of that? if NL4E absolutely hates it.
God bless.

Recycled melodies with weird instrument noises over them.

I doubt it will be any more 'experimental' then Noel's AA tunes.

The album is shit, bashed by critics and fans alike, Liam loses his voice halfway through the tour, the band run out of cash and Oasis re-unite

If the songs just aren't there. Then their experimentation will seem less like them taking a chance and more like a gimmick by a band's that trying to avert it's audience's ears from shortcomings of their songwriting. Front there it becomes dominoes.

Worst case scenario would be that the hype dont live up to that actual recording, but we've discussed that before
I wanna be surprised, i want the fanbase to be surprised. DGSS was just ok, sometimes it's dissed a bit too much but it has serious flaws as well. their new direction can either be experimental, or just them playing in the studio ala Let it be, or country... whatever, the tunes have to sound real, not forced.

Even The King of Limbs had Bloom which is leagues better than anything off of DGSS.

That's exactly what is going to happen, I'd put a million quid on it that was my first thought after i've read the latest BDI interviews. i really want this album to be good but after all these years i've learned that most of the album descriptions were nothing more than euphemisms for the same old stuff
