Suppose the obvious thing is - define success? "To be rich and have lots of fans have lots of girls to prove that I'm a man And be No. 1 - and liked by everyone"

Selling out places like Brixton Academy and selling a couple of hundred thousand albums is success for most bands. It's not success for Liam Gallagher

i think the only way Oasis will ever get back together in anyway is if BDI(Liam) are successful. until then Noel will hold his own success over Liam's head and Liam will look desperate if he entertains/mentions the idea of wanting to get back together. God bless. I'm not sure. I think it would be a kick in the teeth to all fans if both were successful and got well received albums. Why would they want to go back to the mediocrity that was Dig Out Your Soul and the tour that followed?

Why would they want to go back to the mediocrity that was Dig Out Your Soul and the tour that followed? For the sake of argument. Because they miss each others input and are inspire to do something musical together again. I know that is the only way I would want them back together. Definitely thing the idea of a reunion for financial gain is just asking for a return to mediocrity or worse.

As far as getting back together ,I don't think success for either will influence them about reuniting...nor will money unless they get broke which is highly unlikely...it's comes down to are they really as bad off as ray and Dave Davies ,two brothers who had mega success but can't stand each other and won't even talk let alone play together...the money will always be there so will the fans in the uk they will sell out knebworth and Wembley as many nights as they want and be minted 100 times over the question is will they bury the hatchet unlike the kinks or will they both miss the ego inflation of playing huge venues??? If that happens a reunion is sure to come if not they are never coming back as long as they both are apart huge stadiums are not in there future they can play Wembley arena but not Wembley if they miss that type of fame a reunion is in the cards

Success for Black Rebel Motorcycle Club is if the music is appreciated and if critics actually 'get' their music. I am steadily waiting for the next BRMC album since they are my 2nd favorite band and love the them nearly as much as Oasis. Success for Liam isn't a few positive reviews and decent album sales. I mean let's really analyze this okay? His debut album with Oasis was at the time the best selling debut album and the definitive book mark for English guitar music at the time and is hailed (especially by critics that are not in the US) to be one of the best albums ever. His second album went on to become the biggest selling album of the 1990's, had the biggest tours and performances of the decade and as far as the Brits go is the best album of the last 30 years 2010 backward, also had countless accolades on the albums success and and the thing gave birth to the chain reaction waves which would later create The Killers, Kasabian and Coldplay. His third album all though falling short of expectations of it being the greatest record to ever come out was still the fastest selling album in UK history and had a monstrous and successful tour. (also Be Here Now is pretty amazing) His fourth album let the mass festivals and stadium gigs high keep going even though many fans and critics were divided on it. (I love it) His 5th album was hailed by music critics and many fans alike as the first step in the right direction for Oasis in years and all though the tracks on it weren't the best or even produced the best still gave to the world 'Stop Crying Your Heart Out' and 'Songbird'. ( Love The hindu Times :3) Their next record was hailed as a revival of Oasis and was commercially and critically successful and had a great documentary along with it as well. Their next and final record was loved critically by anyone not in the US and was successful commercially selling 5 million copies (I believe.) Success for Liam Gallagher is being "The Best Band since the Beatles". Tearing through the stratosphere with cocaine fueled attitude and working class defiance. I mean being one of the handful biggest bands in the world is something many bands will never have. BRMC all though destroy Beady Eye and NGHFB musically when they come together and become one they are a force very few bands can stand eye to eye. I mean the Stone Roses and there spin offs havent sold well separately or together and even The Smiths and Morrissey haven't sold well compared to the massive heights Oasis have reached. All though for special mention The Stone roses and The Smiths' critical heights could drown most bands in an Ocean of itself.
