So you all know I won the competition to go to the PG event in London, thanks to anyone who liked or shared the photo, I really appreciate it!
All the band were pretty tight lipped about the new album but here's a few details I managed to get...
Gem
- They were going to mix the album next week (Which is this week)
- He said he isn't sure when the album will be released and said a lot of it is to do with the record label and it's when they want to put it out, he seemed pretty pissed off about it.
- He described it as a big change, it's not a rock n' roll album, it's something completely new.
- When I asked him to compare it to something he was stuck and said it's impossible to compare it to something 'It's a completely new sound'.
Jeff
- He is on the album and has been from the start.
- They have recorded 30 songs to be put forward to the mixing part and it hasn't been decided what the track listing is going to be yet.
- World's Not Set In Stone may not be on the album and the version they have now is completely reworked to the live version we have heard.
- It's the most 'out there' record he has been apart of
Liam
- Told me to tell all my friends ''Beady Eye are fucking back with a bang.''
- It's going to blow peoples head off and he hates saying it but it's very experimental.
- He wants to put a single out in April but said the album will most likely come out in the summer now.
- It's in a different league to the the first album, he was putting DGSS down a lot when I spoke to him even though I told him I loved it.
- Funny side note - I told him I was his biggest fan, he replied ''I don't think you are man.. I'm my biggest fan'' and then laughed haha.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I spoke to Andy as well for a bit but he was DJing so couldn't really keep him long.
They were all absolutely amazing, had all the time in the world for me, especially Liam, at one point he grabbed my phone and started taking pictures of us both, there's some hilarious ones!
That's all the details I could get, didn't want to keep pestering them with questions all night.
The main thing I took from it was they are all really excited about this album but none of them were really sure when it was coming out, I think it'll be out in the summer at the earliest now after hearing what they had to say.
I also got to the bottom of who wrote In The Bubble and World Outside My Room finally!
Bubble - Gem World Outside My Room - Andy
Gem did point out though that both songs were a joint effort but they were just the ones who started them off, Liam chipped in as well.
So yeah, it was an incredible night in which I will never forget and it truly was the best time of my life! I'll post a few pictures later on.
If any of you have any questions, ask away!
Cheers.

Great work as usual Rolo.
Liam said something recently about BDI going "Pink Floyd" or something, I think that sounds fucking awful personally. I hope Liam was just speaking out of his arse like usual.

he was putting DGSS down a lot when I spoke to him i'm quite disappointed to hear that. so it seems that he has finally bought in to all the critics.... come on liam, there's some great stuff on there. the hell with the haters. also a little concerned about gem saying it's 'not rock 'n' roll' ..... hmmmm.... thanks very much for sharing with us, rolo! i know you couldn't ask liam everything, but did you get the chance to inquire at all about 'show me your love'? cheers! Thanks Rolo. Always great when an actual fan gets to meet the band and ask them solid questions. The DGSS put down was fairly interesting to me. Some complain a lot about Noel being wrong for putting down BHN when so many fans love it, but hey, they are human. And I've personally have found both Gallaghers most interesting when they have talked about their perceived "failures", than their successes. It's part of the story and the good thing is that they always seem to get back up.

I'm quite glad he didn't think Different Gear wasn't that good because in comparison to oasis albums and of course NGHFB it wasn't really up to standard. I'm absolutely sure this will be better than DGSS.

Cheers everyone, it really was a special moment.
Liam did say there were a couple of good moments on DGSS but it just wasn't good enough and that the new album would be a huge step forward!
I didn't get to ask about 'Show Me Your Love' unfortunately, I wish I had done now! Next time eh haha!

Better than 99% of the journalists out there. Great questions.
Only a few more months even if it's been pushed back a bit. Hope it's all going well.

I'm glad to hear Liam was honest with himself and thought DGSS was just average. You can't make a great leap forward without recognizing your weaknesses. It also never helps to say DGSS is on par with DM before it's release. You are only setting yourself up for failure. I can't wait to hear what Beady Eye are working on. In Dave Sitek I trust.

I'm absolutely sure this will be better than DGSS. i have to respectfully disagree. in my opinion, as an album dgss is miles ahead of giants, heathen chemistry and dig out your soul... and i also think that four letter word, the roller, wigwam and the morning son are just as good as anything on nghfb's.

I completely agree with you on four letter word, the roller, wigwam and the morning son but I just don't feel it works well as an album, to me the production leaves much to be desired and there are a few too many fillers for me
