i'm not the one who's gotten in to it with what seems half the fucking forum, members don't have my picture in their sig pics and not in a positive light, forum members don't change their user names in reference to altercations with me or had several different arguments in this section in the past couple days but yeah, i'm the fucking problem.

I can't get too excited about Liam's comments. He over hypes every album. I remember back in late 1999 he said SOTSOG was gonna be as good as Dark Side of the Moon and would shit on anything Radiohead would release in the year 2000. Swing and a miss Liam. Gem's comments are cringe worthy. Friends with "jaws dropping" sounds. Come on! What else are they supposed to say? They are your mates. I'm sure they told you DGSS was massive. I am interested in Sitek's comments however. I loved his work with TV On The Radio and the Yeah Yeah Yeahs. In my opinion he is a breath of fresh air for the sessions and a straight shooter. He runs in much different circles than Beady Eye and that might serve the band well on this release. They will have an updated sound I'm pretty certain. A nice face lift so to speak. Both fingers crossed!  I agree. By far the most interesting comments are Siteks. Liam will always it's awesome and Gem will always say it's good. Really interested in hearing what they are doing...could be a really neat listen. Seems like Sitek is definitely bringing in his own point of view and influences. Last time around BDI where all about talking about "back to roots rock 'n roll" and it's night and day how they are talking now. |

Liam has always been pretty good in the studio with a rested voice. even back in his wtsmg days his studio vocals have been tinkered with--- it's rare to hear vox 'as is' from any artist on an album. even if it's stuff like pitching, doubletracking, or nowadays 'autotuning' --- there's a lot of trickery going on. there was a thread that went into detail on this awhile back on this forum, but i'm too lazy to look for it. EDIT: this is in no way meant to be a knock against liam... but for the producer to come out and say that the vocals weren't retouched AT ALL.... to me, is just an outrageous statement to make. |

Not a massive fan of most of the effects of DGSS. Liam has an impactful instrument that not every band is lucky enough to have. |

Definitely, live he's constantly straining over the massive amps and crowd so isn't nearly as good as he was, but in the studio he's as good as he's ever been I think. Maybe not reaching the peak's of Listen Up or Slide Away but songs like Four Letter Word and Shock of the Lightning still proves he can be the envy of many other singers in the business. |
