From the formation of the band in August 2009 to December 2012, Beady Eye have had an enemy, an opponent, a big rival in the musical realm, one Noel Thomas Gallagher.
This, of course, was expected. The quips, little swipes, putdowns was always going to happen.. And it did.
However Liam has now opened pandoras fucking box and has ultimately unleashed a shitstorm upon his own head. He has created a new enemy, and monster of an opponent, one that surely cannot be defeated.
This enemy is Oasis.
Liam has declared all out war on Oasis with his latest comments. After stating "fuck Oasis" there is no going back, he has made his bed he is going to have to lie in it... Or is he?
Maybe he has crafted an album that can compete with Oasis? Why not? Stranger things have happened. Maybe Liam has put together a collection of songs that is bursting with fucking awesomeness.. Maybe Liam has found a producer who doesnt like Jerry Lee Lewis and is more within his depth than that Steve Lillypad fella.. Maybe Gem has given up writing about "tying you balls in one big knot"... Maybe the keyboard player doesnt look like a cross between Stan Laurel and JLC...
Maybe BDI2 is a work of genius that pisses on your Slide Aways and your Champagne Supernovas.. Maybe Liam Gallagher has evolved into the John Lennon of the purple chino era... Time will tell.
Noel Gallagher is good, Gallagher Jnr was brave to challenge the cnut, but to propose a face of with Oasis, the greatest band of all time.. Madness! But what if he wins?
What if he wins?

Then the mayans were right! Nah just joking. I would be very happy actually if they pulled off a great album. DGSS was good but they've got better songs in them.

What if he wins? hahhaha if the look of a keyboarder is important to people, than there will be always a reason for people, why a band is shit. there you go my beautiful world of music. i hope that liam comes up with something new. i understand the point "fuck Oasis", if he really said that, cause he said too often, that oasis was his life (guess people just hear, what they want to hear). I don't want "Slide away#2" or a new "Champagne Supernova", people want everything to be like the first oasis albums i think and thats the reason, why people could not enjoy new stuff. i hope beady eye got distance between them and the 60s, if the records sounds fresh, it will be interesting.

I'm pretty sure its a snippet from Next months Q mag.
Nice read HFP.. I'm sure I'm as anticipated as the next one on here to hear the new album and see them live!

I can't take said remarks seriously when he has in fact played Oasis songs live under the BDI moniker and will continue to do so post-album during their next tour. Fuck Oasis, Liam? Oasis MADE you and has afforded you ever luxury known to man. Everything you know about songwriting, lyrics and guitar playing is rooted in the Oasis formula. YOU CANNOT ESCAPE.
Either way, I'm hoping he flips us all on our heads by releasing a great, perhaps even amazing record. He's surely been working his arse off and is extremely confident in their new material. (when is he never...?)
I'm not saying he couldn't win...but it's highly unlikely. Beating out DM, or MG? Good luck, Liam...you have some weathered heavy weights to battle against...

However well the album was I doubt it could be a DM or WTSMG. Those album captured a generation/defined an era.
A few 40 year old blokes aint gonna do that in this day and age.
Think it will be a decent album though.
