LIAM GALLAGHER is abandoning Britpop on the next BEADY EYE album!!! The former OASIS man has been working with TV ON THE RADIO and YEAH YEAH YEAHS producer DAVE SITEK. He said: “I hate the word ‘experimenting’, but we are definitely experimenting “In five words, it’s ‘majestic’, ‘imperial’, ‘out there’ and, er, what was the other one? Oh yeah, ‘heavy’. “It’s different to the first. It’s been heads down, none of that nonsense from the Nineties. We’ve got our s*** together.” Liam’s in bullish mood about his band’s second release, which is due out next year. He added: “It feels like a really special album. You know when you normally go through a door and go, ‘Er, I’m not really sure about that’. “Well, we’ve f***ing booted the door off the hinges.”

The 90's were like the 60's so he probably meant both.
Its nice to hear but as with either Gallagher we should always tread carefully when they mention departures or experimenting.

sounds good, I'm glad he didn't hype it up too much saying it's the best album in 50 yrs etc.

I have hope in the "heavy" thing Although in the lead up to DGSS he said, "It's proper rock 'n' roll. Oasis was a pop band compared to what we're doing" Then we got DGSS. I'm not putting much stock in Liam's descriptions this time around. Glad he is back to enthusiasm though. He and the rest if BDI seemed a bit down towards the end of 2010 when they left the circuit.

Strange because IMO the first album was far from 'Britpop'.......
....... and "none of that nonsense from the Nineties" -- What exactly does that mean? What I can gather is that they've ditched the ''pop'' songwriting/sound (ie 'The Roller', 'Kill For A Dream' etc) and are writing songs more in the vain of ''Wigwam''
Anyway.... 'pinch of salt' springs to mind.

It's going to be the 2nd best album for the next 50 years. Fact.

hopefully BDI aren't pussies like Noel and scrap their album if it's too "out there", though i don't think it'll be too out there.
God bless.

I wouldn't read much into these comments. DOYS was meant to be "groovey", "experimental" and "psychedelic" but it turned out to be very similar to all of the previous Oasis albums.

The pair of them have always been at it. If they had said that DOYS had different elements or influences to it then fair enough. I think that's likely to be the case with this album. Maybe some different sounds and inspirations but its not going to be reggae.

I am quite convinced these are not Liam's words, they sound silly. I think The Sun made it up.
