Will never be released, the album version is to be forgotten about unless it ends up on some sort of soundtrack...just can't see it.
It's not the same as STC, RM or LTBL - They were demos which didn't have a live version heard by anyone (except for STC of course but even then that was a one-off) - down to the fact that it was live at every gig for me signals that its all we are ever going to get of it

Don't like the demo at all - so slow and plodding. The live version is terrific, one of the highlights when I saw him in Glasgow.
But I bet a billion quid Dave Sardy f***s up in the studio once again and gives us a piece of dirge.
As for Alone On The Rope, massive shame how obscure that track is. It's amazing - arguably his most haunting and eerie tune yet, none of the usual bombast which makes it quite unique. Would have fitted perfectly and elevated Standing on the Shoulders of Giants I think (along with Lets All Make Believe).
