Noel said something once about producers. I can't remember the exact fucking quote. Something like this... "don't hire a fucking producer vagina if you ain't ready to listen to his shite ideas. Anyway, Lillywhite or Liam said something about The Roller and the Lennon ecco thing in the vocals. The producer didn't want that stuff cause it was derivative, innit. Maybe they sould have just listened to LW and not fuck about. Chemin des Papes is a nice red wine. I'ts from Cottes Du Rhone ...is that is a real place? Maybe they should just let this Sitek person produce the record and not meddle in his shit. haha U drunk bro?

Wish Noel would have been more ambitious with producers, instead of hiring boring one trick ponies like Sardy. Might have made Oasis relevant with a different sound if he had done.

If Sitek has gone in a put his own stamp on the songs it'll be interesting to see what The World's Not In Set In Stone ends up sounding like

best news to hear in years!well kind of...he he.
in the worst case its gonna be an album at least as good as DGSS or even better and i m happy even with that scenario cause i really like their debut album.
best case is ...oh my God..i cant even think about it!!! i love these guys and i have faith n respect and i know for sure that they are capable of something extraordinary.
i m not sure about sales or hits but with oasis we had a lot of them, so i dont really care and i dont expect Beady Eye to change that ugly (musically) world. Now we need good/great albums n music and to finally see these guys trying to do something different n go to another level , something that Noel (one of the greatest songwriters ever) couldnt do it (unfortunately).
i dont expect haters to respect them or even to hear n like their new album.i also dont expect Noel boys to say something good for their new album (their comments make me really laugh here).

Many people said DGSS was Liam's best record since WTSMG. Liam hyped it up as his best record since DM. Now, since the dust has cleared and we can clearly see such sentiments were/are mostly bullshit, I wouldn't get too excited about what a new producer or manager says.
For me, DGSS falls somewhere in between Heathen Chemistry and Dig Out Your Soul...arguably the two worst Oasis records. (SOTSOG has it's own share of shit, but a lot of people and myself included love the atmosphere/psychedelia present on the record and there ARE some great classics on it that rival the first two records...) But, it can be assumed for the most part that DGSS consisted of songs that had been vaulted for nearly a decade or that weren't appropriate/didn't fit the vibe of previous Oasis records. We were given a record of left-overs and throw-away tracks that was dominated by Andy and Gem songs, to be honest. I can see why Noel didn't approve of them, even for Oasis B-Sides...not saying it's a bad record. It's just not an every day spinner.
Since then though, LAG have been given two years to write fresh material. They've had a well-deserved break, recharged their batteries and have learned from their past mistakes. They know what works and what doesn't, what was considered strong and what was seen as weak or filler material.
Now, we all know Sitek and Rodger have undoubtedly heard both the new and the old songs. I'm sure they've heard the creme de le creme of Oasis, BDI, and Noel's Poultry, seeing as he referenced his "classic records" in comparison.
The band, management, and producers jobs are to hype the record. No doubt. But seeing as both manager and producer have made glowing comments towards the songs and vibe, when being fully aware of his previous eight records and accomplishments, it does lead one to become very excited and anxious. I detected little to no hyperbole in these statements. And the fact that we've heard jack from the band itself lends further hope...by this time, Liam was already making his "Better than Oasis, Noel, DM, best band in the fookin world" comments during the DGSS era. Their lack of comments or personal hype leads me to believe they are holding back some surprising, high quality stuff...
The only thing that disappoints/worries me is the resume of both men...to be frank, I'm not too impressed with either of their past projects. Sure, The Yeah Yeah Yeahs and Arcade Fire are pretty big names to be associated with. Foal is alright I guess, and dude produced a Scarlett Johansson record (which is iffy...Tom Waits makes the record, not Scarlett).
But otherwise, nothing truly amazing sticks out. To be honest, I'd say Beady Eye is the "biggest band" either have worked with, if one takes into consideration the Oasis connection and Liam's past successes. "Beady Eye" as a band aren't monumentally huge, no, but Liam Gallagher as a celebrity/past Oasis member is. He's personally appeared on seven #1 records, one #3 record, and was the lead vocalist on eight of Oasis' #1 singles, not to mention being on the majority of the bands 22 top 10's.
No other musician/band in either of their catalogs have come NEAR this level of success, with the closest being Arcade Fire (which, sorry, I ain't a fan of). Sure, 95% of that success is thanks to Noel's songwriting...but hell, when you were in a band with Noel Gallagher for nearly twenty years and were there step for step for such successes, you gotta give Liam his props as well. Surely, some of that Noel talent had to have rubbed off on Liam...Songbird is a strong case for such, so is Wigwam and The Morning Son.
I'm sure Liam CAN write a "classic" or No. 1 song. He just hasn't done it yet.
All I ask is that I hope there is a fair balance between writing credits...I'd like to see Liam hold a majority this time. I'd like to see him excel and see him grow and mature as a songwriter. He's written class material, he's written shit...but nothing that rivals his brothers best.
Unless Liam has written a new Masterplan, and the record has a great atmosphere and drops all of the Millionaires and TRC of the past record, I'm holding my breath and not putting too much stock into these comments.
Producers, managers, and members can say what they will. I won't and can't judge until I hear it all with my own ears. Past Oasis records and band member comments have taught me never to put it all on black for the band (or ANY band) due to such.
One of the men worked for Macca though...that's saying quite a lot, actually. Shit, some have called Macca the next Bach or Mozart of modern/pop music...to receive such comments from a man who personally worked with the single most successful and revered musician of our lifetime carries it's fair share of weight...

I like how the lead singer looks like Jeff Mangum and sounds a bit like Neil Young, but I haven't listened to them enough to form a valid opinion, I guess. I'll rephrase...it's not that I'm not a fan or dislike the band, I just haven't cared enough. Been too busy working my way through the Kink's catalog as of late to be arsed by much else.
Any recommendations by them?

Liam Gallagher has only written twenty-two songs and at least ten of those are class. Ten proper, great tunes. Another ten of them are mediocre, alright songs. Only two of them are certifiably shit...Ain't Got Nothin' and Two Of A Kind
I've considered compiling the "Liam Gallagher songbook" on the forum, transcribing all of his songs and lyrics for musicians interested in studying his work, as well as providing further analysis into his musical ability as a guitarist, lyricist, and melodies. Comparison between Noel and Liam is bound to happen, surely, but I think it'd be a fun project to attempt...I dunno how it'd be received, but Liam does need a bit more attention as a songwriter, I think.

I'd agree that Rodger's CV of bands isn't that consistent brilliantly, but when you manage Arcade Fire - commercially and critically successful and probably the most relevant band in the world at the moment - then that is some benchmark.
I always think Andy Bell has got a load of potential - much of Ride saw that, but since the end of Ride and afterwards, he's peddled in Britpop shite ever since, so I hope he drops all that rubbish.

Liam's songs on HC are the highlights of the record, on DBTT they just fill the space between Noel's classics, on DOYS they're just OK and on DGSS they sound unfinished, unstructured. Thing is as good as they are, they tend to lack focus and they sounds exactly like that.
I'm not saying there's not a great songwriter here, but he just need to work a bit more on them. Otherwise he will always need someone else's songs, He could never do a record on his own that way.

Sorry, but that's a stupid assumption to make. I wouldn't say that ever, if at all. Macca, Neil Young, and the Stones have all written amazing material from 40+ onwards. Doom and Gloom? Chaos and Creation?...
Don't base the quality, subject matter, or accessibility of songs based upon the writer's age. You do know that Willie Nelson didn't even become even vaguely famous until his forties, right? He spent twenty years writing songs before he made ANY sort of name for himself. The same goes for many others!
Look at the old pot head now, and tell me he hasn't "made it" or written great songs since "becoming forty".

Although there is something that I don't like, overall I like DGSS and I'm sure their new album will be more interesting.
Liam is without a doubt a great frontman. But songwriting-wise, I don't think Liam is a great songwriter or he will ever be. That's not to say Liam is rubbish at songwriting.

His songs on DBTT are excellent and I'd say AGN is the only serious misstep.
