Sensible thoughts but... Low commercial gains? Their last few albums were selling well over a few million copies worldwide. Touring-wise, they were playing to bigger crowds than they had in the 90s. What's the point of splitting up the band for low commercial gains since both NGHB and BDI haven't shown any signs of attaining the combined success of Oasis' commercial success (late 00s) ? Noel's debut album has sold better than every post Be Here Now album except Heathen Chemistry in the UK. Probably world wide as well. He also just finished a massive year long world tour that equaled what Oasis was doing in the last decade. I can't speak for Beady Eye but Noel Gallagher is doing mighty fine since the split. Less headaches for Noel with no Liam around either.

I don't believe any of the conspiracy theories about Oasis splitting for financial gain. It'd be super stupid for Liam and co. Only Noel is possibly making a comparable amount to what he did in Oasis because he gets a much larger share of moderately smaller ticket and album sales. But I genuinely think that they surprised themselves on both counts. Liam and co are making so much less it isn't even funny.

I think BDI and NGHFB management team is behind the band´s times and schedules. Think of this: we´ll never see both Gallagher releasing their albums at the same time, they wouldn´t for commercial reasons. It is more profitable to get money from both than only from one, I mean if both bands released their second albums the same week, Noel would be completely ahead. When BDI announced their first album and launched it Noel was off, then at the middle of their tour the sales for the album and the shows were quite avarage and then Noel appeared. 2012 was all for Noel and once the tour is over, we hear the announcement about BDI 2nd album. That is an intelligent move... we fans are expecting and consuming all the time from the Gallaghers. Once BDI second tour is over, Noel will come and say: hi, i got a second album or the rumors for the Oasis reunion will explode again since 2015 will be pretty close. The main reason behind Oasis split in 2009 was the low commercial gains and vicious cycle of the band: 3 years between each album and tour, the fight in Paris was just the "reason". And we all know Noel is a genius not only in music but in PR and publicity as well. I'm pretty sure BDI have changed their management company since DGSS.

For Liam I think it's more the hit to his ego of having to play in front of smaller crowds. He's sorted financially so I don't think the money would bother him so much.
Andy/Gem are probably just grateful that Beady Eye exists because without Liam they'd be making a lot less.

It's not all about making money I agree I never said it was if you actually read. I only made the point in relation to the statement that Oasis split for financial gain. In fact my basic point was that there is no way that they just did this for the money. It's a basic fact that LAG aren't making as much money. And if Noel is it's probably a shock to him as much as anyone. It's definitely not all about the money...or they would have stayed together.

You came back with some long-winded response stating facts. Liam made £4 million off Pretty Green in its first year... Who cares?

He probably lost money with Pretty Green in its first year. It's extremely rare for a company to make profit year 1.

"Who cares" says the man that knows the gross profits of Pretty Green like that has anything to do with it. Do you disagree with me and think that they split for financial gain? I'm a bit confused about what you are complaining about this time. It's a simple fact that Liam makes less in BDI than he did in Oasis...I honestly didn't think that that was a contentious point. No one is implying Liam is impoverished or destitute.

Liam is earning a lot less in Beady Eye. That's a fact, an irrelevant one but a fact all the same. Liam has never been that flamboyant with his money either so I'd guess he still has a fair few million in the bank.
In regard to Comos's post, its seems the bog standard cynical conspiracy theory that people around here pedal at times. I don't think it had anything to do with money. Just the utter breakdown of a relationship.

I know what pretty green made in its first year because I put hours and hours in researching it by simply going on the website one day and reading a headline in the news section, I stumbled across it, I'm not saying I cared and I definitely didn't actively search out the money made by pretty green. You're the one who goes on the chart thread and buzzes off the fact that Noel's still selling records, who cares? I don't care where either of the gallagher's reach in the charts and how many records they sell, I care about the music, that the records and the gigs are great. That is all.

I don't understand those kinds of conspiracy theories. They make less sense the more you look at them. When the Beady Eye ship first launched in February 2011, Liam started off saying that Oasis was done forever, Noel's a vagina and Beady Eye are the best band in the land. By the time that tour was over 10 months later, Liam was singing a different tune and was practically begging for an Oasis reunion. So no, I too don't think the split was done on purpose for financial gain. I truly believe Liam never wanted the band to end and is trying his best to make Beady Eye relevant. Good luck to him. Andy and Gem are counting on it.

Where did he beg for an Oasis reunion?
People say a lot of things when the shit hits the fan, you take these things with a pinch of salt (as most people did at the time they were said) because of the rawness of the emotions.

In countless interviews towards the end of the tour last year. He wants a 2015 reunion after previously stating Oasis were dead and buried not more than a year before.

You do know what 'beg' means right?
It stemmed from a Noel interview that Liam was then asked about. He said he could never see them in the studio again but a tour would be fine. As far as we know he has not actively sought to resurrect Oasis in the same sense that Jimmy Page and JPJ have Led Zeppelin.

True true but you and I both know that deep down Liam would terminate Beady Eye tomorrow if Noel wanted to rejoin Oasis, make albums and tour. All this just supports me stating that no way Oasis split up to make more money as two acts. Oasis was Liam's life.

If it was a tour and considering Noel thinks of the last incarnation of the band as 'Oasis' under what pressure would they be to 'terminate' Beady Eye, a band that includes 4 of 5 Oasis members? Liam even said they would go back to there respective projects after any tour. I agree with you, it was nothing to do with money. Liam loves Oasis and rightly so, I don't think its a terrible that he does want to go out there and sing those songs again and I don't think it should be used as a stick to beat him with as its clear that he has been fully committed to Beady Eye.
