The last two Oasis albums were basically 3 years each so if this comes out on time I'd have to say its a different cycle. They went into the studio again after HC approximately 12 months after the tour ended. They just ended up working on it for quite a while in 3 different sessions. They went into the studio 15 months after DBTT. Taking into account that they spent almost 3 months on promo for STC, which isn't mentioning any of the other work that getting a product ready for release entails, then that period is again more like 12 months off Seems pretty much the same time-frames to me so far. They took a year off between albums...just like Oasis generally did. That was the bit that I was expecting to be less based upon their comments.

Liam's sporadic frustration seemed to be the amount of time between albums expressed mainly in relation to the last two albums which were basically 3 years each. If Beady Eye shave 6 months or nearly a whole year off that I wouldn't consider it the same time frame. Then again 6 months may be a longer time to me than you. But each to there own.

Therefore I expected less time taken off between the end of the tour and going back into the studio. They started recording a few days ago. If it takes 6 months or 6years to r come out I am still surprised that they took as much time off between the tour and album as Oasis did. You just love an argument.

An EP last March would have been a nice goodbye kiss from the DGSS era. I guess with a lackluster album and so-so tour attendance the band didn't want to risk wasting songs on a little noticed EP release. Let's all just hope they release a crackling good first single. I'm optimistic.

Hopefully there are standalone EP's for us down the line if they can raise the level of interest.

So many releases to look forward to during that time period, would be better if Beady Eye release something, even just a teaser of a single.

Presumably it'd have to be a teaser of a demo at this point. A teaser beginning of next year'd be nice.

It is also nice to see a lot of indie music blogs pick up on the Dave Sitek news. The response is that this can only be a good thing for Beady Eye's next album.

I'm not at all familar with Dave Sitek or his work at all.. anyone care to tell me if he's any good? He is the guitarist for New York City band TV On The Radio. He has also produced several records for his band and The Yeah Yeah Yeahs. A respected name in the indie music community.

I think Liam's learning the hard way that you've got to have strong enough material before you go into the studio and commit to doing an album. In Oasis he didn't really have to bother about it, because it was always Noel writing the most songs and taking charge of it. Beady Eye is seen as Liam's band, so he has to take more responsibility over it, as well as possibly again having to write the highest percentage of songs, as he did on DGSS. Having said all that, they can do themselves a favour by not having so many songs on the album - 13 was far too much last time, they only need 10 on this one, same as Noel's. Keep it lean and trim, and chop off all the fat and filler.

Having thought about this, I reckon Beady Eye have got two options if they want the album to be well-recieved: do something safe like DGSS, but do it very well, or try and branch out and experiment a bit. To be honest I reckon this is the easier option for them as well as one most people would prefer. To be honest I simply couldn't be arsed with another album like DGSS, and I hope this will be a fresh start

If the album doesn't sound basically predictable (I mean, predictably good, Oasis-ish rock anthems) then I'll eat my hat. The only differences we might here are the different "retro" (to use the word someone labelled them with earlier) influences he might focus on. For example, Liam said he wants a wall of sound Spector style... so he'll just be focusing on that side of 60's music. And who can blame him? Andy Bell can keep his indie never-heard-of-it junk hobby indie bands to himself. The album will sound nothing like it regardless of who's behind the desk. A good producer will focus on the strengths of the band, and we all know what those are. It ain't "indy."
Looking forward to it though, whatever it turns out to be...

Sons of the Stage Man of Misery World Outside My Room Two of a Kind In a Bubble With a Bullet Across the Universe Put that in a nice, affordable card sleeve with fitting artwork and its a nice thing to have.

Release 1+ year old songs as an EP, now that would be a smart move...

I'm a proper Beady Eye fan but even I'd have no interest in that EP I never understand why people want already released material re released such as people clamoring for Alone On the Rope to be 'properly' released

Judging by how well they did physically in vinyl...a physical release might be an excellent idea. Even if it did contain previously released material.
For vinyl singles more people cared about them than anyone else. The Roller, TBGO, Millionaire were in the top 5 vinyls singles. FLW was also in the top 10.
They did themselves a big disservice in limiting physical releases.
I wouldn't mind having physical copies of the b-sides

On to new and better material. Onwards!

I think BDI and NGHFB management team is behind the band´s times and schedules. Think of this: we´ll never see both Gallagher releasing their albums at the same time, they wouldn´t for commercial reasons. It is more profitable to get money from both than only from one, I mean if both bands released their second albums the same week, Noel would be completely ahead.
When BDI announced their first album and launched it Noel was off, then at the middle of their tour the sales for the album and the shows were quite avarage and then Noel appeared. 2012 was all for Noel and once the tour is over, we hear the announcement about BDI 2nd album. That is an intelligent move... we fans are expecting and consuming all the time from the Gallaghers. Once BDI second tour is over, Noel will come and say: hi, i got a second album or the rumors for the Oasis reunion will explode again since 2015 will be pretty close.
The main reason behind Oasis split in 2009 was the low commercial gains and vicious cycle of the band: 3 years between each album and tour, the fight in Paris was just the "reason". And we all know Noel is a genius not only in music but in PR and publicity as well.

Sensible thoughts but...
Low commercial gains? Their last few albums were selling well over a few million copies worldwide. Touring-wise, they were playing to bigger crowds than they had in the 90s. What's the point of splitting up the band for low commercial gains since both NGHB and BDI haven't shown any signs of attaining the combined success of Oasis' commercial success (late 00s) ?
