that's it then - the reason Different Gear, Still Speeding sucked is because of the producer. God bless. That's not what I meant. Steve Lillywhite left a bit to be desired. That's it. The real problem(problem... I'm not sure this is right word.) is their songs. I think what they really need is songs with qualtiy.

I believe Dave Sitek will be a good judge of album worthy material. He is the quality control manager. Remember, a lot of DGSS songs were previously rejected Oasis material (Kill For A Dream, The Beat Goes On, The Roller, Standing on the edge of the noise and The Morning Son). That is almost half the album.

I'd be careful about saying what was 'rejected'. The Roller I thought was a song they just couldn't get right in the studio like Stop The Clocks. I very much hope SOTEOTN was rejected haha.

Rejected...not selected...passed over....it's just semantics. The point is they were submitted for consideration and didn't make the final cut. Some of that for good reason! I wouldn't want SOTEOTN, KFAD or TBGO on any Oasis albums. Way too cheesy and lackluster. I wouldn't want them on any Beady Eye album either. I've always wondered what the hangup was with "The Roller"? It sounds like it would have fit nicely on Heathen Chemistry or Don't Believe The Truth in my opinion. I can't imagine it changed too much from HC demo to DGSS version.

i don't know anything about Dave Sitek but i doubt he has the presence to be able to really tell BDI, and Liam in particular if something's good or not...... i think Noel Gallagher's the only person who could do that.
God bless.

God bless. I don't think Liam is that confident when it comes to songwriting so he would probably appreciate a second opinion. Getting Liam to sing a certain way would likely be the bigger challenge. Just my opinion. ;D

I believe their second album will be brilliant.

I hope the track "Yellow Tail" makes it on to the next album. Sounded awesome as their concert intro. I believe Gem was behind it's creation.

Why would you want it taking up a track space on the new album? Really? We heard it as a background music intro. Hardly an official recording. Fine you win. More The Beat Goes On for everyone!

The Beat Goes On wasn't all that bad....I prefered it to songs like 'Beatles & Stones' or 'Standing On The Edge Of The Noise'. IMO it was one of the better songs on the album.

In my opinion....The Beat Goes On and Kill For A Dream sound like rock n roll paint by number tunes. Very cheesy. Very predictable. Rightly rejected by Noel for Dig Out Your Soul. Andy can do much much better (Four Lette Word, Millionaire, Turn Up The Sun). I have a feeling In A Bubble With A Bullet is also by him. Sounds straight out of his late 60s Rolling Stones playbook. All I'm looking for in LP #2 is for LAG to tighten up the material. The talent is there I believe.

no it is'nt my first language, so excuse my cryptic writing style, cause some stuff is just hard to translate. Don't worry my low standards make my life not too difficult. Maybe thats really the secret behind it all, as, i think it was tom asked, what are the reasons, why think that the album is just shit? Cause i really don't understand some arguments about lyrics, when John Lennon wrote tunes like "everybody's got something to hide, except for me and my monkey", where the lyrics are everything, but the meaning of life or a slogan for a underclass youth. alright, all that with tomlivesforever seems to be over for a little bit anyway...i don't even mind tomlivesforever's stupid shit but i do mind his hypocracy. and it's by no coincidence that he has little tifts with severalpeople on this forum DGSS seems thrown together, i like bits and pieces of it. i've stated this all before almost verbatim several times.... the chorus to Standing On the Edge of the Noise is alright(although as Mr. Kite of this forum pointed out it is a complete ripoff of Get Back by the Beatles.), i like the verse of Beatles and Stones, Three Ring Circus is good. In the Bubble With A Bullet is probably my favorite BDI song but it's not even on the album. i like the drum parts on Wigman. Yellowtail's something i think should've been developed for the album. pretty much everything else does nothing for me. God bless. I agree with you about In the Bubble With a Bullet

Not a good thing.

Noel said that for DOYS, Andy gave him a tape of 5 songs. And how Andy likes to put them in order from what he things is best to last from 1-5. TNR was last, but Noel thought it fit the album best. Gotta wonder if the tape was (in no specific order)
FLW TBGO KFAD Millionaire TNR
Or was FLW written after DOYS?

So if they have been recording for a little while now, it can't be too far away right? May release with a March single too optimistic?
