From Beady Eye's official Facebook page..
''There's a new record on the way! Back in the studio as of today with producer Dave Sitek. Watch this space for more info...''
Great news! Is this Sitek any good?

He's the guitarist in TV On The Radio... And his CV includes a lot of indie bands, that not a lot of people care about... Still think they should have got with Dan The Automator. He's proven. WRPLA, Demon Days, The Colour Of The Trap...

BRMC are great as well.

BRMC are great as well. thats what i mean. people can't expect something interesting stuff like shoegaze or guitar loaded psychedelic in charts today. i really don't want them to do some kind of "wonderwall" anthem stuff. too bad most people want them to do another "morning glory" kinda stuff, although its a different band. be a bit more open minded and don't give oasis fans oasis style songs by beady eye. they need to find their own way.

If he is going to write more songs like the cliche filled 'Kill For A Dream' and 'The Beat Goes On' then no fucking way.

I was just going based on the evidence that he gets a great sounding record.

Yeah but Liam is almost a lost cause when it comes to songwritting imo, Gem is just Ok, Andy is the best songwritter.i can only list a quick peep as his only shit song since hes part of oasis/BE

I really don't care who's writing it.

Dave Sitek has also produced all three records from the Yeah Yeah Yeahs. The rawness of their first record could be a great way to go.
I think this is an indication that they'll be going for a more modern sound.

Maybe they should get Liam's brother to write a couple of songs on it, I hear he's written a few tunes over the years.

WRPLA, Demon Days, The Colour Of The Trap... Not a lot of people care about those records because most people are morons. TV on the Radio, Yeah Yeah Yeahs (who are very popular in America), Liars, Foals, Telepathe, and Santigold are some of the best bands/musicians out there and they have all had albums produced by Sitek. Dan is a great producer, but he proved with Colour of the Trap that he can be safe and nondescript. Sitek will push them in new directions.

This is good news. I thought the first Beady Eye album was decent - a bit inconsistent with the songwriting, but overall I liked it and was looking forward to the next one. I'd like to see them go for a different sound with this new one... as far as the new producer goes, seems like a kind of random choice but could prove good. TV On the Radio and the Yeah Yeah Yeahs have been pretty popular over here in the US the past decade so maybe Beady Eye could even get some audience over here. Not sure if the UK hears of those bands that much, but the songs 'Wolf Like Me' and 'Maps' always come up over here whenever some magazine or tv show go on about the greatest songs of the past decade... Also like the comment someone made about BRMC. Could definitely see BDI going for that kind of indie rock sound.
So the new album should be good!

Dave Sitek is an awesome producer, and the best part about the decision? It's unexpected. It will shake things up and not in a 'Ooh, let's get Steve Lillywhite for our debut album' way. I'm really excited to hear this album now.
Also, I always thought this dude was pretty young but he's around the same age as Liam. Whoah.
