Sounds fantastic, great to see him mixing things up! I was never really a fan of this track, I'll have to re-discover it. There are a few gems on the Heathen Chemistry b-sides.

While I would love to trawl through your posts, its a Saturday and there are things to be done. Never stand between Tom and his wanking time.

Tom gets a spectacular number of bites considering how bad his trolling is.

Sounds great. I thought he would wait till the final show to play it. Nice surprise for the fans in Texas. Wasn't expecting the backing vocals. Basically Tim Smith and Russell staring out in the crowd and listening to Noel on the stage while he's playing. Must have been an interesting sight.
And surprised that a video of A Simple Game of Genius hasn't shown up on Youtube.

Check this video, this girls nailed it three year ago. I mean, she plays the same chords Noel played live... prophet.

Theres a youtube video or a mp3 of an Oasis gig, like 5 years ago, where Noel plays the intro, someone from the crowd gets excited and Noel says something like "no, thats all youll get, im not playing that one" lol

^^^^I think it was the Glass Pavilion, San Bernardino California in 2005. I have the clip somewhere in mp3.
I'm just completely blown away by the fact that Noel played Idler's Dream. And it sounds amazing! Just more proof that they could have done so much more with their live shows back in the day.
Do we have any proof that ASGOG was played or just the source that TheClock cited? I'm finding that one harder to believe.

There's a boot on Jim's blog called "calling all the stars" which has it. No clue if the links still work but it'll at least confirm the date of the show.

I'm a grown ass man and for whatever reason, Idler's Dream is one of those Noel songs that brings tears to my eyes whenever I hear it. There's just something about it that I can't put my finger on. Pleasantly surprised that it sounds just as good, if not better than the studio version.
